Title: Celtic Post by: islandboy on March 26, 2007, 11:56:44 AM I enjoy many different forms of music, the old hymns and some of the new. But Celtic music touches my heart in ways most modern music does not. My favorites are "Celtic Seasons of Worship" Volume 3, first song "Jesus All For Jesus" which is an instrumental. Also the song "I Heard The Voice of Jesus Say", and "How Deep The Father's Love For Us".
I also enjoy music by Sheila Walsh, and also by Susan Lacy, singing "Jesus I Am Resting, Resting". It is hard though to not miss the old hymns we used to sing in church that have now been replaced by the newer songs. ;) Title: Re: Celtic Post by: airIam2worship on March 26, 2007, 12:05:16 PM I love southern Gospel, like what Elvis, Patsy Cline, and other southern Gospel singers sang, I have many of them and listen to them often, but there are a lot of new Christian songs that really put me in a worship mode.
Worship comes from the heart we don't always have to be listening to music to praise and worship God. The Celtics had a way of singing from the heart much as did my most favorite type of Gospel which my grandmother used to sing. It is commonly referred to as Appalachian Folk Music. The hill folk there many times would gather on the porch of an evening and worship with singing. It was definitely from the heart.
