Title: How many out there are RVer's?
Post by: sissy_momof2 on October 04, 2003, 08:35:41 AM
Good morning all,
I woke up thinking I'd love to know if there are many of you out there who enjoy traveling in recreational vehicles (RVs). My husband & I recently bought a 5th wheel. For those who haven't explored the world of RVs-that's a type that hooks onto your tow vehicle. In our case, we have a 29 ft. 5th wheel & a Ford-250 truck for our tow vehicle. We gone on only 2 "shake-down" trips.  That is trips to find out where the bugs are-things needing to be fixed, that sort of thing. We have had 1 major thing so far, but it has been fixed and now I'm anxious to get back on the road to get more experience under our belts. I've told my husband that I want to learn everything-he is a little nervous about me doing the driving while towing our 5th wheel. I am too, but it won't stop me from doing it!  ;D

I'd love to hear from other women out there who have done this sort of thing and tell of their adventures.

Yours in Christ, Sissy

We have a pop-up camper and use it quite reguarly.  We live in TN so we try to get in 4 or more trips per summer/fall.  Actually we just came back from a week at Lake Cumberland.  Wow, what a beautiful place.  We hope to move up to a fifth wheel soon, but for now this one works great for us. ;D

We spent 5 months living in a tiny pop-up coleman; luckily, we were able to move into a house just as the campground was turning off its hot shower water for the winter  ;D I think it would be a neat way to live, maybe for a single person, or a couple. A whole family gets a little crowded.

We have friends who are retired, and live permanently in their RV. They just drive around, and wherever they park it, that's where they live!

Hi All,
I am so happy I got some response on my question...my husband and I just today returned from a short, "shake-down" trip.  It was wonderful.  I forgot all my worries..when you get out like that it re-charges your batteries, so to speak.  We met some terrific people while on this 4-day trip.  Our next trip will be down around Houston, where we have friends who live there.

By the way, I'm a Texan, don't know if I mentioned that before.  We are fully retired, but we stay really busy.  My husband & I were talking while on this trip and we hope to travel for approx. 10 yrs before settling down.  Of course, all plans are if the Lord wills.

Yours in Christ, Sissy  ;D

Sissy,

We live full-time in our RV, too.  If you ever want to talk RV'ing, let me know!

Hello Brandie,
Sorry I didn't reply right away.  We have been very busy and, frankly I had forgotten my post about RVers.
We don't live in our RV full-time, sorry for the confusion.  We live in a reg. home and have a 28-ft 5th wheel.  Recently, I've had 2 surgeries back to back & my husband suffers from several types of arthritis which has been very active this winter.  Consequently, we haven't been traveling for awhile.  If the Lord wills, next mo. we'll get on the road again.  I absolutely love traveling in this manner.  It affords you the opportunity to meet so many nice people.  To me it really enriches your life.
Yours in Christ  :)

???We are thinking of going RVING full time and would like to talk with people who are doing this and find out what they like about it and what they dislike.
