Title: Fight Mannequinism
Post by: Soldier4Christ on September 16, 2006, 06:09:56 PM
I just saw a comercial on TV while watching the news. It was titled "Fight Mannequinism".

Here is what a web site said about this new term.

Quote
What Is Mannequinism?

Mannequinism is too new a phenomenon to be included in Webster's or the Oxford English Dictionary. Actually, we hope the inactivity that causes the disease is wiped out before earning an entry in the dictionary. But in the meantime, here's a definition:

Mannequinism is a condition caused by political inactivity. Sufferers experience a hardening of the skin and firmness of all joints until ultimately the body is transformed into a plastic hollow shell. It is a disease of the mind that ultimately affects the person's whole being - and community.

The good news is that a cure for mannequinism is simple. All a person suffering from mannequinism has to do is be involved in an issue or cause he or she cares about - this could be volunteering at a local campaign office or non-profit organization, spending time out in the field, talking to your friends about issues, talking to strangers about the issue, registering to vote, voting, putting up flyers, writing a letter to the editor - there are so many choices, the list goes on and on!

Mannequinism is something that we have seen in our Christian family also. Those that take up space on a pew in the church but do nothing for God or anyone else. With a Christian not only is there the hardening fo the skin but there is also a hardening of the heart, stiffening of the neck and then the body is transformed into a hollow shell.Their is a much better solution than the one given above although the one above is also a good one for the subject they had in mind.

One needs to turn to God, obey God's will for us, start producing fruits of the spirit in whatever manner God has designed for us.

It is also helpfeul to implement a Spiritual Vitamin regimen   http://forums.christiansunite.com/index.php?topic=12737.0
