Title: Grandparents :) (This is cute)
Post by: Kris777 on August 06, 2006, 10:58:25 PM
GRANDPARENTS

After Christmas, a teacher asked her young pupils how they spent their
holiday away from school.  One child wrote the following:

We always used to spend the holidays with Grandma and Grandpa.  They used
to live in a big brick house but Grandpa got retarded and they moved to
Florida.  Now they live in a tin box and have rocks painted green to look
like grass.

They ride around on their bicycles and wear name tags
because they don't know who they are anymore.   They go to a building
called a wrecked center, but they must have got it fixed because it is
all okay now, and do exercises there, but they don't do them very well.
There is a swimming pool too, but in it, they all jump up and down with
hats on.

At their gate, there is a doll house with a little old man sitting in it.
He watches all day so nobody can escape.  Sometimes they sneak out.

They go cruising in their glf carts.  Nobody there cooks, they just eat
out.  And, they eat the same thing every night: Early Birds.

Some of the people can't get out past the man in the doll house.  The
ones who do get out, bring food back to the wrecked center and call it
pot luck.

My Grandma says that Grandpa worked all his life to earn his retardment
and says I should work hard so I can be retarded someday too.   When I
earn my retardment, I want to be the man in the doll house.  Then I will
let people out so they can visit their grandchildren.

;D   ;D   ROFL!  -  Thanks Sister Kris - this one is a keeper, and I'm already retarded. I don't escape very often, but I'm dangerous when I do.   ;D

This is funny. I like those teeth too. I need to borrow them so I can eat a few early birds. I might even be considered dangerous if I had them.

Oh boy ;D LOL.  I knew that you guys would like this one.  Oh hey that reminds me I wanted to send something else.  I think that you guys will think that it is interesting if it is true.  I'm not sure where it goes.  I think that I will put in general discussion.  *shuffles off*

Even though I'm not a grandparent yet, that is funny Kris.  ;D

Kris it's not even 5am and here I am laughing so hard I have tears rolling down my eyes, this is so funny.
Last night my husband and I went to visit my 2 aunts and 2 uncles, the youngest is 74 the oldest is 94, I took my 14 year old with us and we spent about 5 hours with them, I always enjoy being with them, but when we left my daughter (really my step daughter, but she's been mine since she was 7) asked me, "Mom, does your uncle own that retirement home?" Now I'm reading this and also remember when she was talking about one of her teachers "who's like really old, like 30 or something" ROFL

Hello Sister Tina,

I must tell you that your graphic is beautiful. I've been meaning to ask you if you make some of your own graphics. Regardless, I enjoy them very much. I do make some of mine and thought we might exchange some methods in the computers and software area. I'm very slow and use some simple methods, but I do enjoy making Christian graphics. I made the e-Sword graphic that I use now, and I gave it to the author of e-Sword to use however he wants to. But, so far he doesn't appear to be using it. All of the software I use is FREEWARE.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hi Tom,
Thanks... glad that you like my graphics... I really like to express my feelings with them and hope that they also bring joy to others.
99% of the graphics I use .. I did not make them.  The one that I am using now for my signature I did make. I use a program called VCW Vicman's photo editor, which is freeware, but upgradeable to a Pro version with more goodies to play with. The one I use is really nice and easy to use.

   God Bless.. Tina

Sister Tina,

Your signature graphic is beautiful, and I love the message on it. I will look for VCW Vicman and give it a try. I mainly use DeKnop Button Maker, Picassa, and Microsoft Gif Animator - all FREEWARE. My favorite one is the smallest and most simple - DeKnop Button Maker. I use it to make the individual parts of animations and put them together with Microsoft Gif Animator. Picassa might have the power to put light effects and other things involved in your graphic, but I haven't had the time to learn the more complex things yet. I guess that trial and error is the best way to learn how to use them.

Everyone is welcome to use any and all of the graphics that I have made. Many of them are available on my web site at:

Love In Christ,
