~DEATH~

WHAT A WONDERFUL WAY TO EXPLAIN IT...

A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to

leave the examination room and said,

"Doctor, I am afraid to die.

Tell me what lies on the other side."

Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know."

"You don't know?  You, a Christian man,

do not know what is on the other side?"

The doctor was holding the handle of the door;

on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining,

and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room

and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.

Turning to the patient, the doctor said,

"Did you notice my dog?

He's never been in this room before.

He didn't know what was inside.

He knew nothing except that his master was here,

and when the door opened,  he sprang in without fear.

I know little of what is on the other side of death,

but I do know one thing...

I know my Master is there and that is enough."

Another AMEN!

Thanks Sister Tina for sharing that with us. I have thought many times about eternity, and there are many beautiful passages of Scripture that give Christians just a glimpse. It will be peace, joy, and beauty like no man can imagine. YES Sister, it is enough to know that our MASTER is there waiting for us with open arms.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Romans 8:37-39 NASB  But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Take Time

Take time to think...
it is the source of power.
Take time to play...
it is the secret of perpetual youth.
Take time to read...
it is the fountain of wisdom.
Take time to pray...
it is the greatestpower on earth.
Take time to love and be loved...
it is a God-given privilege.
Take time to be friendly...
it is the road to happiness.
Take time to laugh...
it is the music of the soul.
Take time to give...
it is too short a day to be selfish.
Take time to work...
it is the price of success.
Take time to do charity...
it is the key to fulfillment.

Attempting to Reach a Goal

I would rather stumble a thousand times
Attempting to reach a goal
Than to sit in a crowd
In my weather-proof shroud
A shriveled and self-satisfied soul.
I would rather be doing and daring
All of my error-filled days
Than watching, and waiting, and dying
Smug in my perfect ways.
I would rather wonder and blunder
Stumbling blindly ahead
Than for safety's sake
Lest I make a mistake
Be sure, be safe, be dead.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit…
Rest if you must—but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he’d stuck it out.
Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped
   down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems afar.
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit,
It's when things go wrong
That you mustn't quit.

Thanks Tina.  You'll have to take that one down to a few eschatology debate forums. Might save a few arguements.   ;)

Blessings

Hello Cyberseeker,

I'm not aware of any debate or argument on death for a Christian. It's just as simple as "absent from the body, present with the LORD."

Love In Christ,
Tom

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 NASB  Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord--for we walk by faith, not by sight--we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.
