Title: Please remember in prayer
Post by: Amorus on May 20, 2006, 09:02:31 PM
I hope the Lord blesses you all.  The Lord has given me strength.  My family is very close and my Mother has been fighting cancer for the past three years.  She has been very strong and quite the trooper.  She had surgery this past week and during recovery took a turn for the worse, however, she is still fighting tooth and nail.  She is a faithful woman of the Lord and I know she will be obedient to His will.  I just ask that you would keep myself and my family in your prayers. Its appreciated.

James 5:15

Brothers and Sisters,
Thank you so much for your prayers.  The Lord is good and althought we might not understand his plan, it is a magnificant plan. I truly praise him. My Mother went to be with the Lord late last night.  It was very peaceful passing.  I could feel the Lord place His arms around my family as we all prayed.  Thank you all again, sincerely from the bottom of my heart.

Peace to you all.
-Am-

Amorus,

I'm very sorry to hear this. You and your family will be in my prayers. I give thanks that she was a strong woman in the LORD. "Absent from the body, present with the LORD."

Love in Christ,
Tom

Ephesians 3:14-19 NASB  For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

Thought I would share this with you.
While my Mom was slowly passing a very close family friend, who happens to be a minister, came to my families side to pray with us while we were all at the hospital.  I heard my  brother greet him and say "Thank the Lord for the Christian Heritage my parents instilled in me."  I was thinking about this just the other day.  My family was all together when my Mom passed.  A household raised by the Lord who was always at the head.  In a recent post I had expressed my joy in the outpouring of the spirit on my family.  At the time I had no idea that we would have to deal with the loss we faced.  We held hands and prayed at my Mom's side (James 5 : 15).  We then gathered in the waiting room and began telling stories as laughter filled the room.  One of the doctors working closely with my Mom walked down the hall, stopped and poked his head in.  He looked confused.  We told him we had just prayed and that the Lord had given us all such a blessing in my Mom.  All he said was "Well, I would agree with that." My Mom passed shortly after that.  One way or another my prayers were answered.  A few comments from my family at the time were,  In my Father's house, there are many rooms; if it were not so, I would not have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me,so that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."  We figured my Mom, the neat and tidy person she was, would probably go before us just encase she needed to do a little cleaning (hardly).  How happy she must have been to know that some of those rooms were resevered for her loved ones.  Also, one of my nephews asked "who does all the cooking for the people in Heaven?"  We laughed, but my Mom loved to cook, and it was a great explanation to tell the little one.  But the thing that struck me the most was that fact that even though we had all grown up, moved on to our own families, we were all there for each other.  A family under the Lord.  CS Lewis once said that the death of a loved one brought him closer to Heaven and to the Lord.  I can say I agree with that.  Thanks so much from the bottom of my heart for your prayers during this time.  The Lord never makes a mistake, ever!
Blessings!
-Am-

Thanks Maria,
Yes it was a very busy past week.  I only had the opportunity to visit for short moments.  God's mercy is indeed tender and I praise him for his Holy grace.

Bob,
I will remember and as Billy Graham has said, "I look forward to Heaven, although I'm not quite ready to go yet."  One day we shall all be delivered!

Hello Amorus,

Brother, I'm still praying for you. I loved your last post because it brought back many precious memories of my dad and the time before he passed away. He chose Hospice, so we cared for him at home, and I was one of his care givers. There were  many beautiful times. He was a very strong Christian, so it was a home-coming just like your mother.

It would be wonderful for lost people to realize how different it is for a Christian to die. It's almost impossible for the lost to understand. It isn't an end - just the opposite - rather a new beginning in eternal life with JESUS. There's nothing but joy and peace, so every second would be happiness forever. Those who remain here in this short life will struggle, hopefully running our race, fighting our fight, finishing our course, and joining with our loved ones and JESUS at GOD'S appointed time for us. We must put this short life here in perspective, and the only way to do that is with JESUS. Our own home-coming will be just as beautiful and joyous with JESUS!

Love In Christ,
Tom
