Title: a different love
Post by: Jessie on May 08, 2006, 03:21:31 PM
Does God have a different love for his children than he does for the people who are lost, or the people who will never come to him?
It would make sense to me that he loves his children MORE, however God doesn't play favorites, does he? And because we tend to be more obdient then people who are lost and don't care.  Like those Sodom and Gomarrh. (sp) Did he love all those people he destroyed as much as he loved Abraham and Noah and Sara and all his other children?

We know that God is not a respecter of person. In His eyes we are all the same and worthy only of death. It is only through Jesus Christ that we are accepted as being worthy of His Salvation. We also know that He would have all of us to be saved. Those that are destroyed were done so out of their own choice not His.

I know that your post is true Pastor, but it made me sad. When i first became a Christian I was so stoked that God loved me soooo much. And now as i mature and come to know more about the nature of man and how much God hates sin and how man is completly unacceptable save for Jesus, it just makes me sad. ya know? Cause i want to be so perfect for him, and i never will be.

This is not true. For those that have accepted Jesus as there Lord and Saviour He has covered our sins with His shed blood. We continually strive while here in these fleshy bodies to be be perfect and while we never attain that perfection one day we will be given glorified bodies and will no longer be subject to the destroying effects of sin. That is the hope and beauty of Salvation and our future with Him.
