Hello Symphony,

It's great to hear from you. I'm not sure what you wanted to do with this Scripture, so I did a brief study of it below:
______________________

Numbers 31:14-18 NASB  Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who had come from service in the war. And Moses said to them, "Have you spared all the women? "Behold, these caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, so the plague was among the congregation of the LORD. "Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. "But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves.

War during these times was many times an execution of a sentence against an evil nation. Women were many times considered to be the most guilty because of seduction to do evil. This portion of Scripture and others is many times used by the lost to show that the GOD of our Holy Bible ordered wrong and evil, but this isn't true. Some would say that the taking of female virgins was for the purpose of immorality or sin, and this isn't true either. There were very harsh laws in place that dealt with fornication and immorality. The taking of slaves was seen as the humbling of a nation during those times, and there were also very strict laws for the treatment of slaves, including the marrying of slaves. The slave was viewed also as being humbled. In short, this portion of Scripture does not say what the world thinks it might say. The slaves were treated well, educated, and were most often used to perform work for a family in a humane way. By work, I would NOT be talking about anything immoral or involving sin. There were also laws involving the purification of anything taken that belonged to a defeated enemy.  See the following references in context:

Leviticus 25:44 NASB  'As for your male and female slaves whom you may have--you may acquire male and female slaves from the pagan nations that are around you.

Deuteronomy 20:14  "Only the women and the children and the animals and all that is in the city, all its spoil, you shall take as booty for yourself; and you shall use the spoil of your enemies which the LORD your God has given you.

Deuteronomy 21:10-14 NASB  "When you go out to battle against your enemies, and the LORD your God delivers them into your hands and you take them away captive,  and see among the captives a beautiful woman, and have a desire for her and would take her as a wife for yourself,  then you shall bring her home to your house, and she shall shave her head and trim her nails. "She shall also remove the clothes of her captivity and shall remain in your house, and mourn her father and mother a full month; and after that you may go in to her and be her husband and she shall be your wife. "It shall be, if you are not pleased with her, then you shall let her go wherever she wishes; but you shall certainly not sell her for money, you shall not mistreat her, because you have humbled her.

2 Chronicles 28:8 NASB  The sons of Israel carried away captive of their brethren 200,000 women, sons and daughters; and they took also a great deal of spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.  But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name was Oded; and he went out to meet the army which came to Samaria and said to them, "Behold, because the LORD, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, He has delivered them into your hand, and you have slain them in a rage which has even reached heaven.  "Now you are proposing to subjugate for yourselves the people of Judah and Jerusalem for male and female slaves. Surely, do you not have transgressions of your own against the LORD your God?

Isaiah 14:2  The peoples will take them along and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them as an inheritance in the land of the LORD as male servants and female servants; and they will take their captors captive and will rule over their oppressors.

Symphony, did I get anywhere close to what you had in mind?

Psalms 97:10 NASB  Hate evil, you who love the LORD, Who preserves the souls of His godly ones; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

Hello Symphony,

You're most welcome. Where have you been hiding, and what's been going on in your life? We've been missing you, and a lot of folks have asked how you are.

Love In Christ,
Tom
