Title: Daizy
Post by: sincereheart on March 16, 2006, 03:04:12 PM
My husband is a practical man. I wanted to order some chicks and raise them and he loves to eat eggs so it was no problem! He built me coop for them and everything! He's a wonderful man!  :-*

When our littlest one had a pet turtle that died, she was devastated. It was a simple pond turtle that lived a whole year in captivity, but no matter. Her heart was damaged. In the midst of the tears, Daddy asked her if a puppy would make her feel better. She sniffed that it probably would help. So I got to potty-train the new pet after searching for "just the right one". A search that led to shelters and pet stores and newspaper ads and well, everywhere! A not-so-practical new addition but hey, a dad's a dad.  ::)

And I wanted a horse. All my life. Forever. But I could never persuade my better half that I "needed" a horse. I reasoned. I begged. I cajoled. No go! Nothing practical about it, an additional expense. It's a lifelong investment. If me or the kids lose interest it will still have to be fed. All those "mature" reasons.  ::) I even tried the; "But if I die you'll have to live with knowing that I never got a horse"... and he replied: "If you die, I'll be stuck with the horse".  :P
Ok, so he's not only adorable but he's sharp, too!  ;)

But then we stopped by a friend's house and lo and behold there was a young filly that was so sweet and gentle that even he liked her. So we now have a beautiful new pet named Daizy!  ;D

Ain't she the purtiest thing?  :D
And that gorgeous man in the back is mine, too!  :-*

Congratulations, sincereheart. Horses are a wonderful tool to help teach children the importance of caring for living things as well as a wonderful source of entertainment. I am sure that your entire family will not regret it in the least.

Sincereheart,

Sister, that's a beautiful horse. I just have one question:  do you have training wheels for city folks who visit and want to ride it?  :D

Thank you!  :D
So far we've been really enjoying her! She makes a wonderful addition to the cows and chickens and dogs and fish and even the two chicks we have inside right now.
And I even get out and muck.  :-X

But I do feel bad for my poor husband - he does get stuck with a lot of the care.  ;)

But there's nothing more beautiful than sitting out with a cup of coffee and watching a horse!  :D

Sister, that sure is a pretty horse. Makes me want to ride, when I can't. :'(  My horses, I never had to muck out their stables. You can train Daizy, as well. Believe me, it is a great help. ;D
