Title: Trying times
Post by: catty on February 22, 2006, 04:52:35 PM
I need your prayers for my family. I have a teenage daughter who is pregnant. She is about 10 weeks along right now. I found out the first of Feb. and it was confirmed by the doctor on the 4th. They are wanting to get married as soon as she out of school. I guess I should be happy that the boy wants to marry her, I wasn't at first and still have doubts but she will be 18 soon and I have no control over it. He is 19 and doesn't and has not had a stable job.  I was really mad at first and I have excepted the fact that she is pregnant. I just recently have been able to talk to him without anger to wards him. With that said here is my prayer request.
1. That God's will be done in their lives and in the baby's life.
2. My attitude to wards this boy will shows God's love.
3. For my 15 year old who is following the same path but more openly.
4. That somehow this can be used to turn my husband to God

Sister Catty,

I can only imagine how difficult this would be to handle. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Hang on Sister!!  God will ease your burden.  It is always His will to pick us up from the slush.  He will definitely do it!
And He knows very well that you can pass through this, and He is gonna prove everyone that.  Like He continues to do in my life.

I cannot stop praising Him.  He will definitley shower His grace on you and fill every place that you and your family lack.

Hi catty, it's been a few days since I last saw you at the forum, we miss your fellowship. I PM'd you sister, please take a moment and let us know how you are doing, and if you have any other specific prayer requests. We would be very happy to pray for you. Catty, please know that some prayers take longer to manifest than others, so if you don't see the results of your prayer requests manifested right away, it's not because God hasn't heard your prayers, and it's not because we have not been praying for you. Our timing is very different from God's timing. I continue to uphold you in prayer. You, your daughters, your husband, and the baby's dad. Catty, one of your prayer requests was for your attitude towards 'the young man' is to show God's love towards him. I can tell that you already have a desire for that to happen, and I believe that because you desire that it shall happen even as you want. Sometimes it is hard to show love to those who have hurt us, but as a Christian, your attitude towards this young man will not only be beneficial to you, but to both your daughters, to him, the baby, and to your husband as well. How we hold up under pressure, has a lot to say about our walk with God. I understand we are only humans ans we are faced with all the same problems every other person on earth is faced with in one way or another, but know this, you have a Big God, you are infused with the power of the Holy Spirit and you have many who are praying for you. Please let us know how everything is going, we really care for you.
Your friend and sister in Christ,
Maria.

Hey everyone catty here. I have tried to get in under catty but I couldn't so I just registered again. It's been a while since I have been here and just wanted to stop by and say hi. I want to thank everyone for theirs and please continue praying. Things here are getting a little hairy as my daughter is still wanting to get married. I am not happy at all about this for many reasons. Most days things are good and not many fights until the subject of the boy comes up. Anyways, in the past week or so, I had a friend who buried their son-in-law. Please pray for them. The day I got home from the funeral we received a phone about 2 hours later that my husbands dad past away. Please pray for them. As far as I know he was not a christian unless he had a chance before he died. Pray that something good will come out of this death. I pray for my husband to be saved.
Well, I am going to for now. I just wanted to stop by and say hi and thank you to Maria who pm'ed me.
Kathy

Hello Sister Kathy,

You and your family will be in my prayers.

Sister, you should also be getting a newsletter tonight that will tell you about how to get back on using your old account. We've had major improvements in the forum software and moved to much faster servers.

Thanks everyone for your prayers. It seems like things are rolling downhill as new things keep happening. I am trying to put my trust in God and not lean on my own understanding. I have been praying for a way for my child to see the light about the guy she is involved with and that may be happening as we speaking. She is in love with this guy but there has been some things happening that I believe may be my answer.

Thanks again for your prayers
Kathy

WOW, how time flies! Greetings to everyone. I hope that everyone is feeling the blessings flowing in their lives. I just wanted to update you on things here. My husband's dad past away the first of May, my husband got to see his oldest daughter which has not seen in about 17 years and at the end of May my 17 yo  moved out and in with her boyfriend and his dad. She wants to show me how grown up she is. Well, that so far is not working as she has not done some things I told her that she needs to do and if she doesn't she will not get the care for the baby like she needs to. Anyways, I am rejoicing in the Lord any how as I can not allow satan to step in and try to discourage me. I know what happens in the end and regardless of what my family does I can not allow that to effect what GOd wants to do in my life. Do not get me wrong I pray for them, but I have rejoice and serve God with all of my heart, soul and mind and I can not do that if I allow these things to take priority in my life. I woke up the other day and God spoke to me and this what He said. You can not cry over spilled milk. In other words, you can not continue to look in the past and dwell over things that have happened and are happening. We have to get our minds off of our problems because most things we can not control anyhow and leave them to God.
OK I am sure I have bored you long enough. I just want to praise God for his blessing and his love.
Kathy

Thanks DW, I am sad for his death since he did not know God I am sure even though he was of the Baptist faith. From what I witnessed he was lost, I pray that he knew what was happening and he had a minute to ask Jesus into his heart.

Sister Kathy,

We are still praying for you and your family. I sense in your posts that you are getting stronger and stronger in the LORD. We can lay everything at the feet of JESUS, pray, and know that HE will work everything out for good for them who love HIM. You've had some hard and rough things to deal with, but GOD is with you.

Kathy - KEEP LOOKING UP!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Psalms 31:19 NASB  How great is Your goodness, Which You have stored up for those who fear You, Which You have wrought for those who take refuge in You, Before the sons of men!

Philippians 4:6 NASB  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Hi Kathy, as you said we cannot serve God wholeheartedly if we are constantly dwelling on our problems. God knows what they are you have been praying, and He has been waiting for you to just let Him do the work.  ;)

One thing I learned early in life, you can't move forward if you're constantly looking back.
