Title: The Baby Died
Post by: nChrist on February 15, 2006, 07:34:18 PM
Brothers and Sisters,

My daughter's baby had been growing in the womb for about 8 weeks, and he or she died. Nobody in the family really wants to know whether it was a boy or a girl. This is a time of sadness for my family, but God is with us and everything will work out according to his will. I'm mentioning this as a prayer request for every woman considering an abortion.

Please - try to understand why I am listing this as a prayer request. My daughter had the best medical care, and everyone in the family wanted this gift from God. We already felt a growing attachment and love for a baby we would never get to see or hold. My wife and I talked about the contrast between us and parents who decide to have a baby aborted. It's true that we would be on the opposite end of the spectrum from someone who didn't want a baby or grandbaby, but we still tried to consider human emotions. My wife and I concluded that it would be impossible for anyone to have an abortion without sadness, grief, and a lasting remembrance of a life that would never be. We think that a woman who gets an abortion pays for that decision in some way for the rest of her life. We also think that anyone having anything to do with that abortion pays in some way for the rest of their life. I'm praying for the women who will consider the decision to have an abortion. I'm telling you there is no way to do something like this without pain and sadness. My wife and I also knew that the pain and sadness would be much greater for someone who intentionally ended the life of a baby, so we really have no idea how bad that would be.

All we had was the knowledge there was a baby growing in the womb for 8 weeks, but the love and anticipation was already there. Many of you have been activists to end abortions for many years. KEEP IT UP! and please don't stop. Our family faced the opposite of an abortion, and it was devastating. I am more determined than ever to do everything I can to end abortions, and I'm asking every Christian to do the same. May God help us end the barbaric practice of abortions. That life belongs to God and nobody else.

Brothers and Sisters, my prayer request is for others and the future. By the way, my daughter's physical health is excellent. I wanted to give you a real life example about the death of a baby. I doubt that I did a very good job with this, but I tried. I've been an activist to end abortions for many years, but I really never knew what it was like to lose a baby. Now, keep in mind that I was to be only the grandpa for a baby that the entire family wanted. So, I still have no idea what it would be like to be involved in a decision to abort a baby. I can only imagine that it would be horrible, and it should be horrible. God has richly blessed my family and we will be fine. I'm asking you to pray about doing what you can as a Christian to end abortions.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Amen Brother and God will bless you for your thoughts and concerns of others at a time of your own grief. Even though it is not your request I will still pray for your entire family in this. Brother the comforting knowledge here is that all of you will be reunited with that little one in God's time.

Having fought so hard the last 8 months for the lives of my twin grandchildren and having lost four of  our own children in that same manner in the past I can appreciate what you are saying and what you all are going through. It is heartbreaking to know that many are taking the life of a child on purpose.

Brother, I will be fighting against abortion with all I can and praying that the Lord will bless you greatly.

Brother I am praying for your whole family over this loss. Your daughter, and her husband, the grief they are feeling, I am praying God eases their hearts. May God bless you brother, for thinking of others.

As long as I am alive, I will fight against abortion. Abortion is an abdomation against Christ, and his words.

I am new here but I know the pain your daughter is feeling. I lost one of my twin daughters when she was 4 1/2 months old to the hands of a babysitter and a year later got pregnant only to have a miscarriage and then again had a 2nd miscarriage. The pain almost drove me mad, but I my GOD carried me through and now I have 2 beautiful boys.

I will be praying for your family.

Brothers and Sisters,

Thank you sincerely for the prayers and the kind words. God is healing our family and we know that everything works out for good to those who love God.

It also makes me feel good that so many Christians are doing what they can to end abortions. I know now beyond any doubt that babies are a gift from God, and that life belongs to God - nobody else. Almighty God does know the number of hairs on the head of each baby before the foundation of the world. We obviously don't know about or understand many of the WORKS of the CREATOR. BUT, it is sufficient for Christians to know that everything belongs to HIM. Anything we have or get is from HIM, and in all we should give thanks and all Glory to HIM!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Psalms 31:19 NASB  How great is Your goodness, Which You have stored up for those who fear You, Which You have wrought for those who take refuge in You, Before the sons of men!

Romans 8:26-27 NASB  In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Proverbs 3:19-20 NASB  The LORD by wisdom founded the earth, By understanding He established the heavens.  By His knowledge the deeps were broken up And the skies drip with dew.

Proverbs 3:3-4 NASB  Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart.  So you will find favor and good repute In the sight of God and man.

Psalms 23:1 NASB  The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.

Hello Tigerlily,

Thank you for your prayers. God has been good to my family, and my daughter is handling this better now. I know that something like this can never be forgotten, but God does give peace. In my heart and mind, I know that the baby is with JESUS.

Bronzesnake,

Brother John, I think that Christians grow to appreciate the kindness and prayers of other Christians more and more as they face the trials of this short life. I know that I have been richly blessed with many sweet Christian friends and family members. I actually think that we learn compassion and love for others when we understand our own needs in facing various problems and trials. I know now that many things are impossible to really understand until you've experienced a specific problem yourself. So, I still don't know how difficult it is for a woman to lose a baby, but I do know that we can spend a lifetime learning how to have compassion and love for one another.

NOW, here's something to think about: just try to imagine how much JESUS loves us when He gave His life in our place on the Cross. It's hard to even imagine. It's even harder to imagine what this short life would be like without JESUS.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Sister Terri,

It's great to see you back on the forum. Thank you sincerely for your kindness and prayers. God has already blessed my daughter with two sons who we all love dearly. They live quite some distance from us, so I don't get to see them as often as I would like, but both sets of grandparents have a ball with each visit. In fact, it ought to be against the law to have that much fun. The doctors have said there is nothing wrong with my daughter, and there is no reason why she shouldn't be able to have healthy children in the future. I told her that I wanted (5), but I think that she will settle for 3 or 4.  :D   She and her husband really want a baby girl, so I think that (3) would be all if the next baby is a girl. Regardless, my daughter and the entire family already know that God has already richly blessed them. In fact, I'm sitting here right now thinking about many ways that God has poured out His Blessings on my entire family. More than anything else, we all have reason to pray every day and give thanks for so many blessings that we can't count them. Thanks for our Living Lord and Saviour, JESUS CHRIST, is always number one on the list for thanks.

Love In Christ,
Tom
