Title: Reasons For Christ's Coming.
Post by: ollie on April 10, 2003, 06:28:33 PM
He is coming to raise the dead. John 5:28-29.

He is coming to separate the righteous from the wicked. Matthew 25:31-46.

He is coming to reward all flesh according to their works.
2 Corinthians 5:10, Revelation 20:12.

Thanks, Ollie.

Yes, it's all hard to believe--especially on a beautiful spring day like today...

He's also coming to establish His everlasting Kingdom on this earth and throughout the universe (1 Corinthians 15:24-28).  We have absolutely no idea what it will be like when the whole universe is permeated with God -- His holiness, His righteousness, and His light -- *THAT GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL*

Believers will have responsibilities in this everlasting Kingdom -- we shall live and REIGN with Him (1 Cor. 6:2-3; 2 tim. 2:12).  Also, David's throne will be established in the New Heavens and the New Earth (Ezek. 37:20-28).

All of His will meet Him in the air when He comes.

For this we say unto you by the word of the lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

......Surely I come quickly; Amen.  Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Revelation 22:20

ok ambassador4Christ,., you are totally cracking me up here.. love your replies,., hehe
when i read this thread a song popped in my head..havent heard it sung since a child but here it isThe Rapture
Author unknown at this time
 Verse I
If we never meet again
On this earth my precious friend
But if to God we have been true
And weve lived above all sin
Then for us there’ll be a meeting
Friends and loved ones we'll be greeting
ll see you in the rapture some sweet day
Chorus
Oh yes I'll see you in the rapture
See you in the rapture
I'll see you at that meeting in the air
And there with our blessed Savior
Well live and reign forever
I'll see you in the rapture some sweet day
Verse II
To my loved ones let me say
That there'll surely come a day
When our Lord will come again
And take his bride away
So get ready now to meet Him
With a hallelujah greet him
I'll see you in the rapture some sweet day

The reason why Christ is coming for he is helpingus by forgiving our sins. If u have read the bible, when jesus came to see the tax collectors, jesus told him that jesus is visiting his home. By doing so, he forgive him and the tax collector gave back the money to the people. That was one of his miricle however, he have dozen  and dozen of miricle to show. Jesus was a dude, a cool dude, and i wouldnt mind seeing him in heaven after my death. i wonder what death might felt like to christ when he died on the X?????

Was this mentioned?

2 Thessalonians1:7.  And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
 8.  In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
 9.  Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
 10.  When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

Luke 16:16.  The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.
