Title: Need help on this girl that I like Post by: spectre260 on January 28, 2006, 09:20:47 AM Hi,
I need help. I want to know how will I get this girl to like me. Let me start off with a little story... I was transferred to a new school. A Christian school and that's where I met her. That school is a ministry of our church. I had these feeling in my gut and I think most people refer to it as love at first sight. She's the daughter of the school's principal and school president. Her parents were also the head pastors in the church. She's also the little sister of her 4 sisters and 2 brothers. When she found out that I have a crush on her, she started acting like a boy. I think that she was just trying to relate or something because my friends said that it was the first time that someone had a crush on her. They even said that I have some guts to have a crush on her. Now I gathered some info on her She likes reading the bible (so do I), roses (so do I), basketball/badminton/etc. (so do I) ect. etc. etc. and I discovered that we have a lot in common. Now I talk to her everyday. I just said two words to her: "Good Morning"... When I alway say that I always said to myself "That was stupid". I thought that I should say more than that... but I'm very nervous. It was something like I read in one of someguy's poem "The sweet presence of my mistress make blood rush to my face and brings butterflies to my stomach" So How do I break the ice??? Note: She's so boyish and is like she's gonna eat people when she gets irritated Title: Re: Need help on this girl that I like Post by: Soldier4Christ on January 28, 2006, 09:46:59 AM Hi again spectre,
Give it to Lord. He will guide you. If it is meant for you to be together He will work things out. Title: Re: Need help on this girl that I like Post by: spectre260 on January 29, 2006, 03:06:39 AM Well, I guess i'd put it that way.
I was praying about our relationship then suddenly a few days later I was not so nervous when I talked to her and she looks at me eye to eye unlike the past few months. Praise God. Title: Re: Need help on this girl that I like Post by: mstrohm on March 12, 2006, 01:45:11 PM Spectre,
It is very natural to be attarcted to a young lady. I have 4 children and am a principal at a Christian school. May I give you some advice? First, don't try to see this young lady "one on one". If you try to satisfy your feelings by being alone with her (in my day we called these dates) often the relationship ends up focused on the two of you only and dies eventually. Instead seek to do things together in a group. Focus your energy on serving the Lord - while serving God in different capacities you may want to invite her to come along. This way both of your focus will be on serving God. Finding a wife is like walking on a path and suddely seeing a valuable coin along the way. Don't work too hard and don't worry too much! I admit this is easier said than done. May God bless you! Just had to say that nothing is sexier than a man that has a passionate, honest love for God. AND HE DOESN'T HIDE IT!! The man who ignores me and never glances my way during worship and sermons cause his attention and his heart is on God, is more attractive than a man glanceing at me, and giving me a smile. ok, i'll leave. Just my 2 cents. bye. :P Title: Re: Need help on this girl that I like Post by: airIam2worship on May 08, 2006, 04:22:01 AM Well thanks! I guess you're right. Easier said than done! Spec following are 2 Scriptures you should repeat out loud every day until you can honestly say that you can take the advice given to you. You asked for advice you got the advice, no here it is: advice given to you straigh from God's Word. Mt 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Title: Re: Need help on this girl that I like Post by: Amorus on May 09, 2006, 12:11:54 PM Hi again spectre, Give it to Lord. He will guide you. If it is meant for you to be together He will work things out. This is very good advice for life situations in general, including relationships! No one knows you better then the Lord and no one will listen more intently ;D Title: Re: Need help on this girl that I like Post by: Len on June 26, 2006, 07:33:12 PM Matt. 6:33 "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."

Hi Spectre, The quote above sums up the main idea of your post. The most important thing for you to realize is that there is nothing you can do to get this girl to like you. Ultimately, only God can do something like that. I used to get so nervous around girls that I'd either have to take some time immediately after seeing them or I would throw up. Talk about embarassment. Then eventually I had to accept that there was nothing I could do to get a girl to like me. I had to accept that only God can bring two people together. At first it was a really odd feeling, like I felt helpless. Then it hit me! Every time I meet a girl I screw up, so if God is going to take over then I should be releived. It wasn't long after that that I met the woman who would become my wife. Sure, we have our problems and sometimes I'd like to bang my head off of the wall a few times; but ultimately I know God is in control. God bless! Title: Re: Need help on this girl that I like Post by: john909 on December 05, 2006, 12:23:38 PM Hello,
I absolutely hated this aspect of school -- wanting to be popular, wanting girls to like me, etc. What you have to realize, and what's been mentioned already to you, is that there is nothing you can do. You cannot force someone to like you, and nor should you try. God's will may very well be that you two never hook up. Guys are really susceptible to what's called infatuation or puppy love. I was smitten with any number of girls in my youth and I never hooked up with any of them. I've learned long ago that the best girls are the Chrisitans. CAVEAT: Please don't try and look for only the pretty girls that are Christians. My best female friends were Christians, so-so in the looks department, but had the right focus on God, and their inner spiritual beauty far outweighed any physical attributes, and consequently, I far more attacted to them. Unfortunately, the world dictates people associate only with the "pretty ones". This is false, evil, and only serves to drive you nuts. You then place physical, fleeting attributes over what matters. XXXXXXXXXXXXX once said "Better to be governed by a smart Turk than a stupid Christian." The same applies here. Better to have plain-jane Christian girl that is Christ-centered and cross-focused than a hottie that may be a Christian but could be absorbed by her own beauty and lets it dictate her actions. Beauty is a double-edged sword. There are two kinds of beautiful girls: Those that are beautiful and know it (avoid them), and those that are beautiful and have no clue they are. It's easy to distinguish the two. Girls that are truly Christian have no desire to please the world. |
