Title: something to think about
Post by: this_guy on January 21, 2006, 10:23:40 AM
The next time a Christian goes witnessing to people, and tells people that Jesus will forgive whatever sin the person has committed, he/she should think twice about whether its true or not. In fact there are 2 sins that Jesus will not forgive, and if Id have known I probably would not have become a Christian, if I still am one. Maybe its good marketing (trap), but its a lie.

1) uttering a word against the Holy Spirit is unforigveable
2) a "real Christian" giving up his cross and never returning to Jesus

There are people who claim that these sins cannot be committed because the end times havent begun as of yet, but there people who have committed them, theyre not so hard to commit, thus my doubt as to whether I am still Christian or not (complicated issue). The sad truth is most people find out about these after joining up. If I have ever been Christian, it would probably have been better if I had become Christian soon before I die. Thats not a fact Im claiming, its only a theory, since I cant tell the future. But it does annoy me how many Christians claim that Jesus forgives everything, while He clearly does not. This fact seems ignored. Anyways, Im not here to debate, its just maybe a "favor" thats worth asking of people who witness to others. Tell the *whole* truth.

Hello This_Guy,

First, I see that you are new, so WELCOME!!

I sincerely hope that you enjoy Christians Unite.

Regarding your statement, you have stated an opinion, one that most Christians will disagree with completely. Many things changed drastically and forever with JESUS and the CROSS. This is the most important event in human history.

There is only ONE unforgivable SIN that results in eternal punishment: Rejection of JESUS CHRIST as Lord and Saviour. The BLOOD of JESUS on the Cross is more than sufficient to wash away ANY sin

If a person is truly Saved, The Promises of GOD are immediate and eternal. The Holy Spirit of God enters the heart of the newly saved person and SEALS the heart of the believer as a pledge of the Eternal Promise of GOD. GOD can not and will not ever break a Promise. If you have ups and downs with your zeal as a child of GOD, GOD does not have ups and downs and will not break HIS PROMISES. Salvation is not on the installment plan or based on the good works or continuing good works of man. Further, Salvation is not based on the righteousness of man because the righteousness of man is as filthy rags. Salvation is based on the finished and perfect work of JESUS CHRIST on the Cross. There is no work or goodness on a man's part that can be used to earn or deserve Salvation, simply because NO man deserves Salvation and NO man can earn it. Salvation had to be AND IS a GIFT by the GRACE AND LOVE OF GOD to a man who accepts that GIFT, places faith in that GIFT, and asks JESUS CHRIST to be LORD over their life. SO, Salvation is by the completed and perfect work of JESUS CHRIST on the CROSS, never by the work or continued work of a man.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Romans 3:21-22 NASB  But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction;

Colossians 1:13-14 NASB  For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
