Title: GONNA GIVE YOU GOOSE BUMPS. Post by: nChrist on December 08, 2005, 07:33:15 AM GONNA GIVE YOU GOOSE BUMPS.
Who Walks With Us? A young university student was home for the summer. She had gone to visit some friends one evening and time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked "God" to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a shortcut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for "God's" protection. Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped around her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a line up to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question. Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her." Moral of the story: Don't underestimate the power of Prayer! Gives ya goose bumps, doesn't it! This is to all of you who mean something to me, I pray for your happiness. By Email - Author Unknown Title: Re:GONNA GIVE YOU GOOSE BUMPS. I really think that all Christians have felt the presence of God at one time or another in their lives. I know that I have felt HIS Presence many times, and it was usually in times that I felt also in the presence of evil and death. I look back and feel very fortunate that I served on a police department that was nearly all Christian. We were authorized to have group prayer sessions before dangerous assignments just as long as we announced it and offered to let people leave who didn't wish to participate. I don't remember a time when anyone left. I remember many times that I or others made mistakes that could have cost our lives, and I FIRMLY believe that God intervened. Ask a Christian soldier how many times he or she felt the presence of God. You might also ask a Christian soldier if they believe in the power of prayer. YES, we serve an AWESOME GOD!, and all of us have felt his presence. Maybe we weren't sure at the time, but HE was there. Think about this for a moment and you will realize how amazing this is. Here we are, just one of many millions, YET the CREATOR of the UNIVERSE came to walk with us. NOTICE something here: nobody questioned whether the email story was true or not. I really don't know, but it doesn't make any difference because GOD HIMSELF has spared or protected me many times. The same is probably true for you. YET, the lost are asking us to prove that HE even exists. Love In Christ, Tom Proverbs 3:11-12 NASB My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD Or loathe His reproof, For whom the LORD loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights. He is the Commander in Chief of the Homeland Security Spell Checker Police. He's here looking for airIam2Worship and TalkerCat.
Sisters, I'm afraid that it's one of those situations: you might as well turn yourselves in. Maybe both of you are old enough to understand the punishment. You will be given a Big Chief writing pad, a number 2 pencil, and instructions to block print the word you misspelled 1,000 times each. ;D ;D ;D (http://www.sirinet.net/~blkidps/catgrin.jpg)(http://www.sirinet.net/~blkidps/catgrump.jpg) Title: Re:GONNA GIVE YOU GOOSE BUMPS. Please, I would also love to be added to that prayer list. Prayer is one of the most precious gifts that one Christian can give to another. I must add that prayer is an awesome tool for the lost in asking God to soften their hearts for HIS WORD. Love In Christ, Tom Psalms 111:7-8 NASB The works of His hands are truth and justice; All His precepts are sure. They are upheld forever and ever; They are performed in truth and uprightness. Jam 5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Jam 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: Jam 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Jam 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Jam 5:17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. Jam 5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. Eh!! - I'll be B.A.D. That ought to be enough to put a smile on any Christian's face. Love In Christ, Tom Ephesians 3:14-19 NASB For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Title: Don't know where I went wrong ... Post by: TalkerCat on December 12, 2005, 01:11:27 PM Thank you, Maria, Tom and Pastor Roger for your kind and encouraging replies - I don't know where I went wrong in offering to pray for Praise1 but I guess I offended him/her in doing so. :'( . . all the more reason to pray, right?
I'm growing fonder and fonder of the people here and all three of you are on my prayer chain! Not just a list, for my sole prayers, but on a chain that I lead through my church . . . It grows longer every day as we add people to it. The Lord is with us as we hold each other up in our everyday lives. This site is blessed - God uses His people in every way possible (including the internet) to spread the gospel and the good news of Jesus Christ. So my sister, and brothers PRAY ON! Jesus Rocks! God is Awesome! Glory, glory, glory! Holy is His name! My heart's on fire for Jesus! Blessings - ps: Sister Maria, I have responded a couple of tiimes to your offer of information on the names of God - YES, by all means use my email address. I look forward to hearing from you! :) Title: Re:GONNA GIVE YOU GOOSE BUMPS. Post by: nChrist on December 13, 2005, 07:12:24 AM AMEN TALKERCAT!
Sister Terri, it makes me happy to think about the friendship and fellowship we have here. I was just thinking that the LORD is surely happy with many of the things that the sweet Christians here do. We are joined together in praise and worship of HIM, and we are trying to give GOD all the Glory, Honor, and Praise. I'm positive that HE loves to hear our prayers, and it really doesn't matter that we've never seen or met each other. Where two or three are gathered in HIS NAME, the LORD is there. I sincerely believe that the LORD is here, and I pray that HE leads and guides us to do HIS Will. I was also thinking about the thousands of guests who read the forum every day. They might not ever become members or introduce themselves, but I pray that they read something here that softens their hearts and leads them to our Lord and Saviour, JESUS CHRIST. I give thanks to GOD for allowing the love and fellowship here. I also give thanks for the many posts that may help the lost and strengthen each Christian here. Most of all, I give thanks that the LORD is here with us. Thanks be unto GOD for HIS unspeakable GIFT!, JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour forever! Love In Christ, Tom Hebrews 10:19-23 NASB Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; Title: Re:GONNA GIVE YOU GOOSE BUMPS.
