Hello Cris,

THANKS! That was a beautiful site, and it put me in the Christmas spirit. I must tell you that I try pretty hard to stay in the Christmas spirit every day. After all, I belong to JESUS and I celebrate JESUS every day.

When I think about Christmas, I think about many beautiful things:

The Lights - JESUS is the Light of the World.

Gifts - JESUS is the most precious GIFT ever given to mankind.

Love - JESUS dying on the Cross for us is the ultimate example of Love. HE is the example we are to use in loving others.

Peace - I have Peace with God because I belong to JESUS. This is a beautiful peace that is deep in the heart, a peace that ONLY JESUS can give.

Christmas Carols and Hymns - Songs of Love, Praise, and Worship to our Lord and Saviour. We should all have songs like this in our hearts every day, not just at Christmas.

Joy and Happiness - Regardless of what the world throws at us, Christians should reflect on the riches of Christ and be the happiest people on earth.
__________

In short, Christmas makes me think about JESUS and give thanks that my entire family belongs to HIM. In all reality, there is no reason why Christians can't feel this way every day. The actual day that is observed is just a good excuse for family and friends to gather at homes and churches to share, sing, worship, and praise the LORD.

And Above All -
Thanks Be Unto God for His unspeakable GIFT, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour Forever!

I particularly appreciated the word origin of "XMas" because I have assumed (and you know what that means!) that the 'X' was a substitute for 'Christ' ergo, taking 'Christ' out of Christmas. . .

Blessings -

Hi TalkerCat,

I don't think I ever welcomed you to CU, so a great big WELCOME to ya! :)

Assumed, yeah, I know how that goes. ;)  But ya see, I'm old, and learned not to assume a long time ago. ;D

I knew about Xmas abbreviation, and the "X" being the abbreviation for Christ in Greek, but didn't know about some of the other legends that were there.  I thought it was relaxing just to listen to the music and read them.

Grace and peace,
cris
