Title: Re:The Phantom of the Opera Post by: ollie on November 08, 2005, 06:58:24 AM It met all expectations given from its successful run and still is on the stage.
Title: Re:The Phantom of the Opera Post by: Butterflies on January 08, 2006, 08:09:30 AM Yes, this was a beautiful film with awesome music. I watched it on a long airline flight and was able to fast forward to the next song, ha. --I had already seen it in the theatre.
(Each airplane seat had its own remote.) Title: Re: The Phantom of the Opera Post by: tqpix on January 23, 2006, 12:14:35 AM I like listening to the songs on the home theatre with the volume turned up.
Title: Re: The Phantom of the Opera Post by: kestrel on March 25, 2006, 01:33:39 PM My all-time favorite movie. I've got the DVD and the soundtrack.
And tqpix, you're not alone. ;D Title: Re: The Phantom of the Opera Post by: kestrel on March 25, 2006, 01:46:22 PM Methinks the Phantom was just misunderstood. ::)
All right, I'm joking. BTW, did you guys know that Gerard Butler (the Phantom) was the leading guy in Lara Croft 2? Didn't really like the movie, but he was a good "misunderstood" bad guy (Terry Sheridan) there, too. And apparently he was in a rock band. Cool, huh? Many thanks to imdb.com... ;D kestrel Title: Re: The Phantom of the Opera Post by: Shammu on March 26, 2006, 05:35:21 AM I know I have seen the stage production, which is very good. The only version of film I've seen is with Nelson Eddy, as Anatole Garron, in the 1943 version. I haven't seen the newer version.

What have you been doing, DW, that's kept you too busy to see the new Phantom of the Opera?!? Oh, dear. I'll pray for you. ;D Seriously, though, I really loved it. You've just got to see it! And soon!! 8) kestrel P.S. I'm immensely jealous of your seeing the stage production, and I'd love to see the 1943 film. :P Title: Re: The Phantom of the Opera Post by: Shammu on March 28, 2006, 12:37:26 PM *blink* *blink* What have you been doing, DW, that's kept you too busy to see the new Phantom of the Opera?!? I'm crazy about the movie, the books, the characters, everything. To me, the Phantom isn't a monster, he's a really fascinating man who would have been so wonderful if it weren't for his face.

Title: Re: The Phantom of the Opera Post by: gegorianhymn on June 08, 2009, 07:31:24 PM I know I'm digging up an old thread here, but I just had to post in this one. I'm a big fan of Phantom of the Opera. I've seen the play numerous times, own the dvd of the movie, and the soundtrack. ( stage and movie versions ). On the whole I thought the movie was good. There are a few points I would have done differently/ some things I would have added/ subtracted, but on the whole it was good. As usual, Andrew's music was incredible.
