Title: From The Valley
Post by: Jemidon2004 on October 27, 2005, 08:49:54 AM
This is a poem that i wrote about this time last week. This was my prayer in response to a message at our Baptist Student Union meeting. The minister was talking about "Being a witness" instead of witnessing. I would have to say that now I see the perspective...i hate witnessing. I would rather be a witness than to do something that I can turn on and off like so many of us do. I  'm just as guilty of it as the next person, but i want to BE a witness as it says in Acts 1:8. Anyway here it is:

From The Valley

Lord, in this valley so deep
I pray you my soul to keep.
I've been in the valley too long
Walking amongst this throng
Of people who cannot see,
Who fumble to be set free.

God I have fallen so far from you,
I now cry at the grace that falls like dew.
God you shed that tear of grace
That flows so freely down your face.
You have given me a new life
You have rekindled that dim light.

Abba, I surrender my life before you,
Adonai, I give my all before the King.
Abba, I lay my life down for your will.
Adonai, I give my love to Prince of Peace.

Thank you for reaching down to this deep,
To pluck me from the hands that so seek
To guide me astray from you and you alone.
Keep me near to the Cross on which you died alone...

Coram Deo,
Joshua

Amen brother. Being a witness is the most important and the most effective part of witnessing.
