DAILY DEVOTIONAL   WEDNESDAY JULY 30, 2003
( 2 Corinthians 5:6-8, Luke 16:19-31 )

***Is the U.S. a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah?  Don't miss the Daily Devotional for Thursday as I discuss the new gay high school in New York, the new Gay TV Network, not to mention over a dozen new gay TV programs on cable and the major television networks.

Thanks for the memories, but then what?  Sunday night, the world lost one of the greatest entertainers of all time, Bob Hope.  Growing up, I had the joy of watching Bob Hope perform on TV and in the movies, and of course, his annual Christmas Special that was always part of the holidays at my home.
While our nation and the world mourns his passing, the only thing I could focus on when I heard the news, was,
"Where is Bob Hope going to spend eternity?"  Yes, Bob Hope was one of the most gifted entertainers of all time, yet he was also a man like you and I.
He lived as a man, he died as a man, and like ALL men, the moment he died, he was eternally with, or eternally separated from God.

The Bible, which is our final authority in ALL matters is very clear on death.  It is final.  There is no such thing as reincarnation, we are not coming back as a petunia.  We don't die and go to some special place where people can pray us into Heaven over time.  The moment we die, our body is no
longer of any use, and our soul lives on for eternity, either forever with God, or forever separated from Him.  That eternal destination is determined by only ONE THING, our relationship with Jesus Christ.  Being a member of a certain church CANNOT save you.  Being baptized as a baby CANNOT save you.
The faith of your parents CANNOT save you.  Good works CANNOT save you.  A pastor or priest simply praying over you while you are dying CANNOT save you.  The ONLY THING that can save you is putting your faith in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.  It is a choice, a conscious choice, that YOU and YOU ALONE have to make BEFORE you die.

In talking to several dear friends in Los Angles that are very close to the entertainment industry, as well as several that have written books on Bob Hope's life, I can only pray that at some point later in his life he made that choice to accept Christ as his savior.  He was baptized as a baby in the Catholic church.  However, baptism does not make you a Christian.  His wife is a devout Catholic, but Bob did not share that faith, although he was given many awards by the Catholic church over the years for his humanitarian service.  But again, good works cannot save you.  No doubt a man as well traveled as Bob Hope, had to come across many people over the years that shared with him that faith in Jesus Christ is the only road to Heaven.  Only God knows our heart, and only God knows if at some point in his life Bob made a commitment to Christ.  But let me reiterate, as great of a life as he had, as loved as he was, it all meant nothing the moment he died.  If Bob Hope died without confessing Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, he is lost for eternity!

I have no doubt that somewhere in the world, within a few minutes of the passing of Bob Hope, a man that had accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior also died.  This man was not known by the world, he did not have great wealth, but death is the great equalizer.  If Bob Hope died without Christ, this man
that was known and loved by the world, this man that had all the wealth this world could offer, was instantly cast into eternal darkness.  At the same time, the man who DID know Jesus, who had no fame or fortune in this life, was instantly ushered into the presence of Almighty God for eternity.  "What
does it profit a man to gain the whole world, but lose his oul?"  (Luke 16:19-31)

I love you and care about you so much.  The world was made a better place because of the great gift God gave to Bob Hope.  He will be missed.  But being great in this life does NOT guarantee you anything when this brief journey is over.  Each person is responsible for their own eternal destination by their choice in regard to Jesus Christ.  You see, it was Jesus that died on a cross 2,000 years ago for your sins and mine.  That is why only faith in Jesus can save you.

If right now, this very moment, you do not have the assurance that when your life is over, you will be forever with God, the Bible says that TODAY is the day of salvation.  You never have to doubt or wonder again,  Bow your head right now, ask God to open your heart, and read the words at this following link:  www.liveprayer.com/bdy_salvatn.html .  I will be praying for you as you make the most important decision that you will make in this life, where you will spend eternity.  Only God knows for sure if Bob Hope is in Heaven.
If he is, it is not because he was a great entertainer, but ONLY because he had accepted Jesus Christ into his heart and life by faith.  That is the same choice EVERY person must make before they die.

***Let me say a VERY special thanks to everyone that was able to donate this month.  With just two days left, we are only $1,900 short of meeting all of our obligations for the month of July.  THANK YOU!  God is good!  It is YOUR
prayers, and YOUR gifts that make this ministry possible literally 24/7/365 for just under 2 million worldwide every day!  If you have not given this month, and want to help me in clearing up the balance, you can make a gift to Liveprayer on your major credit card at our website  www.liveprayer.com

All gifts to Liveprayer are 100% tax deductible.

May the Lord richly bless you for standing with me in HIS work here at Liveprayer.  Together, we are making a difference in the lives of people for eternity.  As great as an entertainer as Bob Hope was, what he did helped people through this brief journey here.  HOWEVER, THE GREATEST THING THAT
YOU CAN DO IN THIS LIFE IS IMPACT SOMEONE FOR ETERNITY!!!  The memories of this life will one day be gone, but eternity is forever!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

DAILY DEVOTIONAL   THURSDAY JULY 31, 2003
( Genesis 18:16 - 19:28 )

The United States, a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah?  In light of the recent
Supreme Court ruling that overturned the sodomy law in Texas, we now learn
that in New York City, there will be an all gay high school.  Harvey Milk
High School will be for GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered)
students.  Also, now available is a new television network called the Pride
Network , that will have 24/7 programming geared towards a gay audience.  On
top of that is the plethora of new programs on cable and network television
promoting the gay lifestyle.  "Boy Meets Boy" is a reality dating program
for gay
men to meet other gay men.  Another reality genre program is "Queer Eye For
The
Straight Guy."  Already airing on cable is "Queer as Folk" and the popular
HBO
series "Six Feet Under" where a leading character is gay.  Not to be
outdone, the
networks which already have brought us openly gay characters on the
top-rated
sitcom "Will and Grace," will have over 6 new sitcoms with openly gay
characters.
Welcome to a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah!

The purpose of this Devotional today is to warn those who are not aware to
what extent the pro-homosexual agenda is being fulfilled and to hopefully
wake up the bloated, weak, and apathetic church that has to bear much of the
responsibility for the moral decay of our culture.   The goal of those who
have chosen the homosexual lifestyle is to justify their sinful choice that
is inherently destructive both to society and themselves.  They are trying
to force society to validate legally and ethically their choice of sexual
behavior and relationships, and to enact laws that allow them to promote
this sinful choice to our children as normal, even desirable behavior.

Let me say right up front, sin is sin in God's eyes.  No sin is greater than
another.  The sin of homosexuality is no more, or no less a sin than murder,
adultery, stealing, lying, gossiping, or gluttony.  THE REASON THIS SIN IS
BEING SINGLED OUT AND ADDRESSED IS BECAUSE THOSE WHO
COMMIT IT, ARE PROUD OF THEIR SIN AND PROMOTE IT AS AN
ACCEPTABLE LIFESTYLE!  People who commit adultery do NOT have
parades to celebrate their sin.  People who commit murder do NOT have
political action committees to make murder legal.  People who steal do not
have high school clubs and try to teach children that stealing is acceptable
behavior.
Homosexuality is a SIN in the eyes of God and is something to be ashamed of,
NOT proud of.

Theologically this is not even a debatable issue.  All through the Bible,
from the Old Testament through the New, homosexuality is defined by God as a
sin, PERIOD.  God calls it an ABOMINATION!  I have heard the tortured
theological arguments homosexuals have made, but there is absolutely NO WAY
to change the fact this act is a sin.  Just because there is now a
homosexual
version of the Bible where they have literally changed the passages that
call this act a sin, that does NOT change God's inspired, inerrant Word.
Just
because there is a fast growing homosexual denomination, the Metropolitan
Community of Churches, that does NOT change the fact God calls this act a
sin.  I
can guarantee you if I started a church that taught adultery was acceptable
and wonderful behavior, I could fill stadiums on Sunday morning!  THERE IS
NOTHING THAT CAN CHANGE THE FACT GOD CALLS HOMOSEXUALITY A SIN!!!

The two greatest lies the pro-homosexual community has put out are that 1)
homosexuality is something that you are "born with," 2) 10% or more in our
society are homosexual.  First, modern science has CLEARLY rejected and been
unable to prove that ANYONE is "born gay".  IT IS A CHOICE!!!!  PEOPLE
CHOOSE TO ENGAGE IN HOMOSEXUAL BEHAVIOR!!!!  LIKE ALL SIN, ONCE YOU DO IT
LONG ENOUGH, IT MAY SEEM 'NATURAL', BUT IT IS STILL A CHOICE THAT YOU MAKE.
Also, all legitimate studies done by the non-homosexual community clearly
show that less then 1% of the population EVER engage in this type of sexual
sin.

Of course, anyone that dares to speak up on this issue is labeled as
"intolerant" and a "homophobe."  I find it amusing that Dr. Laura, who
correctly pointed out that homosexuality is a deviant lifestyle, had her
television program targeted and eventually taken off the air by the
homosexual community.  So this group that calls for tolerance by others, is
very
INTOLERANT when someone opposes their views.  They also use the word
"homophobe" to intimidate people from speaking out against their sexual
choice.

Since I started Liveprayer just under 4 years ago, I receive an average of
5-6 death threats a month.  By far, the largest number of those threats over
the years have been after running a Devotional on this issue.  Last night on
my television program I dealt with this issue.  I immediately received 2
death threats, was sent some of the most hateful, nasty, vile emails that I
have ever seen.  But I can promise you one thing, I WILL NOT BE SILENT!  It
upsets the pro-homosexual community in Tampa where my program originates
since my program has no commercial sponsors that they can boycott, and I BUY
THE TIME from the UPN Network, specifically so nobody can tell me what I can
and cannot say.  So they have no way to silence me, except thru trying to
intimidate me.  I CANNOT BE SILENT ON THIS ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS NOT
ONLY A BONDAGE MANY MEN AND WOMEN NEED TO BE SET FREE FROM,
BUT IT IS HELPING TO DESTROY THE FAMILY!

I love you and care about you so much.  THE GREATEST PROBLEM IN OUR
NATION TODAY IS THE DESTRUCTION OF THE FAMILY.  God's definition
of "family" is a man and woman that are married and their children.  We have
literally
watched the family become perverted and destroyed over the past 40 years.
The
destruction of the family will be the ultimate destruction of our society.
THAT is
why this issue is so critical, because it destroys the family as God
intended it to be!

The church better wake up and realize that while they have been building
great buildings and getting fat, satan has been busy using the sin of
homosexuality to destroy the family.  As much of an abomination as
homosexual churches are, equally as abominable to God are regular churches
that accept homosexuality as a normal lifestyle!  Parents, you better wake
up
and be aware that your daughters are being taught at school that it is
"cool" to have sex with other girls, it is called "lesbian chic."  You also
better be aware that your sons are being taught having a boyfriend is the
"in thing."  Lastly, you better be VERY AWARE of what is on television, in
music, and out in the culture that is constantly sending the message to your
children
that homosexuality is a normal and acceptable CHOICE!

We live in a free society.  If people who have chosen to engage in
homosexual activity want to have their own schools, their own churches,
their own television network, they have every right to.  It is about time
the church wakes up and realizes that those who promote this sin are bold
and are stopping at NOTHING to get their message out to the masses.  THAT is
why I am always talking about how the church, those who know Christ as their
Savior, have got to quit preaching to the choir and start taking the hope
and love of Christ to the world at large.  As those who follow Christ, we
also have a responsibility to pray for those who are in this bondage, for
God to
open their hearts to the truth of His Word, and to turn from their sin.
Only God
can change hearts, and for those who are in bondage to the sin of
homosexuality,
we must pray for them to open their hearts and turn from their sin.

Until Jesus returns, we will always have those who choose a perverted form
of sex with those of their own gender, just like we will always have those
who choose to pervert sex by having it outside of the bonds of marriage.
While we can never accept their choice since it is clearly against God's
Word, we must pray for them, just like we must pray for everyone who is
battling sin in their life.

For those reading this who are currently fighting homosexuality, let me tell
you that God has never
stopped loving you, and is simply waiting for you to turn from your sin and
come back to Him.  We serve a God of deliverance from sin, a God of
forgiveness, and a God of restoration.  Millions have turned from the sin of
homosexuality and found complete restoration and fulfillment in living a
life according to God's plan.  What He did for someone else, He can do for
you!  I pray today that you hear these words, and choose to find freedom
from your sin today. That freedom is only a prayer away!

In his love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

DAILY DEVOTIONAL   FRIDAY AUGUST 1, 2003
(2 Timothy 1:5)

***This Devotional is dedicated to Campus Crusades for Life founder
Dr. Bill Bright who passed away on July 19th at 81.  There have been
incredible and glorious tributes to honor the life and work of Dr. Bright
over the past 10 days.  He allowed God to use him to build an organization
that reached literally BILLIONS worldwide with the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
and is arguably one of the most effective evangelists that has ever lived.
Dr. Bright lives on through the organization he founded, and the millions
and millions of lives he touched for Christ along his journey.  THAT is his
greatest legacy, and the greatest legacy anyone can have.

The greatest legacy that you can leave is in the lives you touch for God.
As I have gotten older, each passing year makes me realize all the more how
brief our journey here really is.  It is only natural that we think about
how we might be remembered after we are gone.  I don't want to sound cold,
but the fact is, other than our family and possibly a few close friends, the
memory of our life will fade quickly.  Once we are gone from this life,
there is very little left to remind people that we were even here.  Some
people may be memorialized by having a building or road named after them,
others may have their memory honored by having an event named after them,
but for most there will be little evidence of this life once it is over.  My
purpose today is not to discourage you, but to challenge you in regard to
how you CAN live on long after your life here is over.

I have often talked about leaving behind the temporal things of this world
when we die.  How the only thing we will take from this life into eternity
is our relationship with Christ.  That our works will be tested and much of
what we do in this life will be burned up as wood, hay, and stubble.  The
works that will stand the test of fire are those eternal works.  So it is
with our
legacy, what we leave behind.  We leave behind our name, which may or may
not continue.  The most visible thing we leave is our children, but they too
will
one day die.

What we do leave behind that will NOT pass away are those souls who will
live
for eternity because we were obedient to God.  Understand that only the Holy
Spirit can bring a person to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  However,
God uses human instruments to affect a person's life and bring them to that
point.  Your prayers, your kind words, your acts of charity, your
unconditional
love for others during your life will live on in that person for eternity!

The point I want you to understand today is that it is never too early in
life, or too late in life to impact someone for eternity.  It is after all
our purpose in this life.  Our purpose is to serve and glorify God.  Our
service to God comes in the service to others.  Our service to others has
ETERNAL consequences.  It is our greatest legacy.  It is the part of us that
WILL live on for eternity.  We live on long after we leave this life, in the
lives of those we touch along our journey.

I love you and care about you so much.  I pray today that you will take
these words and meditate on them throughout the day.  This is one of those
Devotionals that you should print out and keep with you.  We all go through
those times in our life when we wonder what it is all about, if it really
matters.  The answer is a resounding YES!  We need to be reminded from time
to time that we are significant because God uses us in His plan and purpose
to touch other lives at every step along our journey.

I am humbled each day as so many of you share what Liveprayer and
these Devotionals have meant to your life.  I am so appreciative to God that
He
has given me this wonderful opportunity to share the love and hope that we
have
in Jesus Christ with millions worldwide each day.  I am clearly focused now
more
than ever, that the best way I can make my life count, is in serving those
the Lord
allows me to minister to along the way.  It is the greatest way I can
imagine to live
my life.

My challenge to you today is to make sure you leave an eternal legacy, that
you live on after your death in the lives of those the Lord allows to cross
your path.  Let me also challenge you that if at this moment, you are not
100% sure that if your heart stops beating this moment, you will immediately
and forever be with Jesus, then please take a moment, pray for God to open
your heart, and read the words at this link:
www.liveprayer.com/bdy_salvatn.html .
It will be the most important decision that you will make in this life.

Do you honor God with your lips, or your life?  Several weeks ago, I did a
Devotional on how God calls what those who try to speak to the dead, those
who are involved in fortune-telling and other psychic activities do, an
ABOMINATION.  I gave a mountain of scripture to support that God clearly
says this is activity we are NOT to be involved in.

I used John Edward, this fraud who claims to speak to the dead as an
example in that Devotional.  At best, Edward and those like him are highly
polished carnival acts, at worst, they are operating with demonic powers.
Every
time I deal with this issue, the demons of hell come flying out of the
woodwork.
Those who defend Edward, Sylvia Brown, and the rest of these deceivers all
say the same thing,  "They have to be of God.  They pray, and they always
talk about God."

The prophet Isaiah said it so well in the anchor verse for today.  "These
people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but
their hearts are far from me."  It is not what you say that makes you Godly,
it is what you do!  These psychics honor God with their words, then proceed
to engage in activity that is 100% in opposition to God.

I read recently that a woman won an award for appearing in a pornographic
movie and said that she wanted to thank Jesus for the award.  I cringe as I
watch
an athlete give glory to God for what he accomplished on the field, then
moments later proceed to take God's name in vain.  Saying the word "God"
does not make you "of God."  It is your actions that make you "of God!"

Please don't get me wrong.  I am not saying that we should not give God all
of the glory, honor, and praise that He deserves.  WE MUST!  But God is more
interested in how we honor Him with our lives.  My mother used to tell me
that
actions speak louder than words.  She was 100% correct as mothers always
are.

The greatest impact that we can have on someone we are close to is not
by what we say, but how we live our life.  Our most powerful testimony is
not our words, but our actions.  The greatest impact that you can have on
unsaved family members, friends, those that you may see at school or work,
is not what you will say to them about Jesus, but how you show them Jesus in
YOUR day to day life.

I love you and care about you so much.  I pray today that just because
someone uses the name "God", or "Jesus" , or "Christian", that you just
don't automatically accept all that they say and do.  You can't be "of God"
and then blatantly live in 100% opposition to God!

The Bible, our final authority in all matters, the ABSOLUTE TRUTH that we
base our very lives on, says that those who do what Edward does, what Brown
and the other psychics do, is a SIN.  So they can invoke the name of God,
pray
all they want, that does NOT make what they are doing "of God" any more than
what the porno actress does, even though she also gives glory to God.  God
is
not impressed with our words, but our actions.  My question to you today is
this:
do you honor God with your lips, or with your life?

In his love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

DAILY DEVOTIONAL    TUESDAY AUGUST 5, 2003
(Genesis 2:24)

***EDITORIAL COMMENT: In light of the vote to ratify the ordination of a
practicing homosexual bishop, the Episcopal Church is declared ANATHEMA!
This is the church in Pergamum spoken of in Revelation 2:12.  I can only
advise anyone in that church to LEAVE.  God will not be mocked by a church
more worried about offending sinful men than God Himself.  God cannot and
will not bless sin.  The Episcopal Church is no better than the abominable
Metropolitan Community Churches that promote, glorify, and take pride in the
sin of homosexuality.  See this link for the full text:
www.liveprayer.com/abomination.html

"Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things
deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also
approve of those who practice them."  Romans 1:32

***I want to APPLAUD President Bush and Pope John Paul for their firm and
BIBLICAL stand on gay marriage.  It is a sad day in our nation's history
that this is even being debated.  The fact is, no law will EVER change the
truth of God's Word.  Marriage is God's holy institution between one man,
and one woman, for one lifetime!!!

Marriage is God's idea, not man's.  God's plan for marriage is summed up
this way, one man, one woman, one lifetime.  Let me encourage those of you
who have not been married and are still waiting on God's perfect timing for
your lifetime mate.  This is the plan God has for a man and woman as set
forth in the Bible.  It is not even debatable to talk about any other kind
of relationship because God clearly lays out HIS plan in the Word, and
anything else is a perversion of that plan!  Based on the divorce rate and
percentage of people who engage in premarital sex, one man, one woman, one
lifetime, may seem unrealistic in today's society.

However, the perversion of God's plan for marriage is evident throughout
history, and detailed in the Bible from the Old through the New Testaments.
That perversion DOES NOT make God's plan any less true.  As a matter of
fact,
it is only in following God's plan that it really works.  One man, one
woman, one
lifetime, means no divorce.  The family and our society has been greatly
damaged
by the ever increasing divorce rate from the mid-60's through today.  One
man,
one woman, one lifetime, means you don't engage in premarital sex.  For
those
moments of pleasure, the pain and consequences are evident in broken and
scarred lives.  One man, one woman, one lifetime, works because this is how
God designed it, with the best interest of His children in mind.

Let me take a second to address those who have not been able to follow God's
plan.  Many who read this devotional have already been through divorce in
their life.  Many have already had multiple sexual partners.  In many cases,
all of this happened before you came to know Christ as your personal Savior.
Does this mean you should give up?  No!  What this does mean though is that
from this point forward, you should try to follow God's plan.  It is the
only way
you will be in His will and able to know the fullness of His blessings in
your life.

What you have done in your past is behind you.  You can't change that.  You
need to take some time to repent and ask God's forgiveness, to heal, and
then
move forward in your life.  God said in His Word that if we confess our
sins, He
will forgive us and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.  That is His promise.
Seek
His forgiveness and move on.

Many reading this today will dismiss these words as nice but not realistic.
That is straight from the pits of hell itself.  It is VERY realistic.  The
world has perverted God's plan for marriage too long, and it is time to tell
people the truth.  It works God's way, it will never work any other way.
This Devotional today is a warning to those yet unmarried, those yet who can
still follow God's plan for marriage in their life.  If you don't believe
God, talk to someone who has been through a divorce.  Talk to those who have
had multiple intimate relationships.  Let them tell you firsthand the pain,
heartache and consequences.  Then talk to those who have listened faithfully
to God.  Those who have followed His plan of one man, one woman, one
lifetime.

This devotional is also meant to encourage those who have failed to now
follow
God's plan in their life.  It is not too late.  God loves you, and while you
will always
have to deal with the consequences of your past actions, you can do it God's
way
from here on out.  The Bible talks about having a life of abundance.  My
friend,
that life is only possible when you follow God's plan in all areas of your
life, including
His plan for marriage.

I love you and care about you deeply.  I will be praying today that these
words
will find a fertile resting place in your heart.  It should be a challenge
to you.  When
you pray, ask God for the wisdom and strength to live according to His plan
for your
life.  God will honor your commitment to Him.  Let your life be a living
testimony to
this lost and sin-filled world that there is a better way.  The greatest
testimony you have
is not the things you say, but how you live.  Let those around you notice
how different
your life is, how better your life is, because you have chosen to follow God
and God's plan!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother,
Bill Keller
