Title: Losers for Christ
Post by: Symphony on July 29, 2003, 09:02:46 AM

If you can't beat'm, join'm.

You heard it here, first, on ChristiansUnite forum.

I'm thinking of starting an organization, or group, Losers for Christ.

Based on the scripture, he who would save his life, will lose it; or, unless a seed falls into the ground and first dies, it cannot bear fruit...

The current trend increasingly, for, at least in the U.S. and probably Europe, Christians to be villified, coralled, and increasingly marginalized and swept into the underground, ghettos, out of public discourse, etc.  Ultimately, they will be outright persecuted, probably or at least possibly tortured and killed.  This will be carried out by various groups but largely at the behest, or in spite of, governemtn, commerce and the organized church(es).

My thinking is, as Jesus and the Apostles intimated, worldly speaking, we really be "losers".  I'm thinking beat them to the punch, go ahead admit it and even making it the point, advertising it that way, as such.

lol, cute idea. I just fear it will end up like the Jesus Freak idea. GOd doesn't make freaks, he takes freaks and makes them int omight men and women of god, likewise, god doesn't make losers, he take losers and makes the Champions!

Symphony,

I would prefer to be called a fool for Christ.

Yes, we will become more and more marginalized. The "tolerant" will/have become "intolerant" of us. All religions, all "sexual orientations" (sodomites) will be tolerated.....but with the true believer, the cry will be ; "bring back the lions".

Psalm 119

Yes, good point, Tibby.  Through Christ, we really ARE victors.

But still, while here, as Psalm says, we really are the refuse.  Maybe "fools for Christ sake" really is the better term.

"Fools for Christ".  Maybe if no one else has the trademark, I could take it.

Probably won't have to worry about much competition.

(hehe) ;D
