Title: Red Moon Post by: Soldier4Christ on September 10, 2005, 06:07:38 PM I was sitting in my car last night at the grocery store waiting for my daughter that was inside shopping. I was enjoying myself watching children play in the yard next door and contemplating on the Lord and recent events that have taken place around the world. The children went inside and the neighborhood got unusually quiet.
I looked to the sky to watch the stars as I sometimes do. I enjoy looking at the sky and sometimes will study the moon. I have seen the moon in different colors before. Bright white, yellow and sometimes even orange. This time it was red. This is the first time that I have seen a red moon. I was reminded of the verse: Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; Now I am not saying this was the incident spoken of in this verse as we didn't have a great earthquake and the sun is not black. Yes we did have a pretty big earthquake that caused a tsunami but I don't believe that is the one spoken of in this verse. This did remind me though that The Day Of The Lord is coming just as He has promised it would. I thank God that I am ready. Are you ready for the Lords coming? Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour? If not why wait any longer. The Bible tells us that we do not know when the Lord will come. It could be any second. The people that were hit by that tsunami did not know it was coming either. It took them unawares. It was to late for many of them. This life we have here on earth is fragile it is short. We can have an eternal life by accepting Him as our Saviour. God wants you to have this gift of eternal life. The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6) Good works cannot save you. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9) Trust Jesus Christ today! Here's what you must do: 1. Admit you are a sinner. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23) "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12) "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." (1 John 1:10) 2. Be willing to turn from sin (repent). Jesus said: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5) "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" (Acts 17:30) 3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9) 4. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Saviour. "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10) "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13) A simple prayer would be something like the following. This prayer must be from the heart not just repeated because it is there. Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Saviour. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12) "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17) Title: Re:Red Moon Post by: Shammu on September 10, 2005, 06:30:03 PM What the red moon reminded me of is;
Matthew 16:3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? Acts 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come: Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come. I'm glad to see I am not the only one who thought. That the Day of the Lord is coming, just as Jesus has promised it would. Resting in the hands, of the Lord.
