Post by: Butterflies on September 01, 2005, 05:29:43 AM Thanks for responding TX Grandma. I like trail mix too. I just finished reading Ruth again; she was great to stay with Naomi. Here are my responses:
#kids: None...my dh is a big kid, does that count? Favorite colors: royal blue and yellow Favorite foods/snacks: chocolate and pretzels Favorite Verses: Colossians 1:9-14 Ministry you are involved in: Serving as English teacher tentmaker missionary in Taiwan Woman from Bible you most relate to/why: Sometimes I am like Martha scurrying around to get things just right, when I should be listening to Jesus. I praise God for... a Christian husband, a good family growing up, being able to see people come to Him this year Title: Re:Just for Women...Let's lighten things up... Post by: TEXASGRANDMA on September 01, 2005, 03:30:21 PM My mom and I went to a study on Mary and Martha once. The study said that while there is a time for being like Mary and sitting at Jesus' feet there is also a time for being Martha and doing the work. There are those who do none of the work and then they are those who are like Martha and work hard. So don't feel badly about being like Martha. While Jesus did say that Mary was not wrong for sitting at His feet, Jesus did not tell Martha that working was wrong either.
betty Title: Re:Just for Women...Let's lighten things up... Post by: Butterflies on September 01, 2005, 07:01:31 PM Ah, good point! Both have their purpose. We just need to pray for wisdom on when to focus on one or the other.
What about other ladies to respond to questions? ;) In His love... Title: Re:Just for Women...Let's lighten things up... Post by: Willowbirch on September 05, 2005, 08:29:58 PM #kids: none, I am single!

Post by: Willowbirch on September 05, 2005, 08:40:14 PM While Jesus did say that Mary was not wrong for sitting at His feet, Jesus did not tell Martha that working was wrong either. Didn't He say basically the same thing to Peter, when asked what would happen to John? He took the focus away from people and questions and drew the attention to God.betty Oh, how I love questions! :-X :D In a version of Enoch dating back to 200 BC, an angel asks the author why he has so many questions, and the author replies, "Because I want to know about everything!" ;D Title: Re:Just for Women...Let's lighten things up... Post by: Butterflies on September 06, 2005, 12:23:28 AM wow, Willowbirch, I can honestly say I've never had a peanut butter and pickle sandwich. Now with bananas sure. Sounds "interesting". ???
I also like Gg MacDonald's books. Those are cool vss. from Zechariah. TX Grandma: Oh, how much simpler/better our lives would be if we could focus on God and not ppl. so much. ;) So the old cliche' is true...No such thing as a stupid question? Title: Re:Just for Women...Let's lighten things up... Post by: TalkerCat on November 18, 2005, 10:19:29 PM Oh gosh, let's see..... I have no children (by choice). I love animals and tend to rescue strays. My favorite color? Hmm... lavendar I guess, it seems I have a lot of lavendar in my wardrobe. I love Thai food, and Chinese. I'm also a very good cook! My favorite meals to prepare lean toward Italian and Mexican, also "Soul Food" (blackeye peas, greens, corn bread, etc...) Favorite bible verse - that's a tough one, let me think on it. I'm the prayer chain leader at my church (Calvary Chapel), I volunteer my secretarial skills to the pastor and his staff, I coordinate church events such as the "All church breakfast" once a month and I'm chairing the committee for the Christmas Pageant and Talent Show this year. Sometimes I work in the nursery caring for babies during the church service. Basically I guess you can call me a church volunteer, because if something needs to be done that I'm physically capable of doing (I'm an amputee in a wheelchair), I will volunteer my time and skill. Favorite woman in the Bible has to be Mary Magdelaine - she washed Jesus' feet! I can only imagine the JOY and GLORY to wash the feet of my dear SAVIOR! And I am grateful to God for everything ... it's difficult to name my blessings one by one because there are so many! He loves ME! Praise His Name! Glory, glory, glory! JESUS LOVES ME! Hallelujah. My joy is in loving Him.
Blessings - Title: Re:Just for Women...Let's lighten things up... Post by: Shammu on December 23, 2005, 04:17:25 PM I figure if Talkercat can peek on the guys, I can peek at y'alls too..... ;D

Post by: airIam2worship on December 28, 2005, 08:24:34 AM :) Hello Battle Maiden :).#kids:I have six daughter's ages are 40, 38, 34, 29, 23 and 19. Favorite colors: My favorite colors are red, blue and lavender but I wear many other colors too. Favorite foods/snacks:I am a savoury person. Favorite Verses:Jermiah 31:15-17 and Exodus 14: 13-14. I thank God for bringing one of my daughters out of drugs, I praise that all my daughters are his. There are many things that I praise him for. It would take to long to post them. Battle Maiden I have 4 children of my own 3 daughters, 1 son. ages 36, 33, 30, & 24. Five years after my 2nd husband and I were married he was granted sole custody of his 2 daughters (then ages 7) that was 7 years ago,I have been raising them ever since. I have 14 grandcildren, the youngest is due to be born on the 10th of January, he will be delivered by c-section at 7:30am. He is included in that number because he already is ;) I don't really have a favorite color, I think all colors are equally beautiful, I am a nature person, I love the sound of the ocean, the sound of birds singing their praises to the Lord early in the morning, the rustling of the leaves, the peacefulness of a brook gently flowing, the laughter of children, I love especially to hear them sing. I love the smell of fresh cut grass, the early morning mist, I love to see the eagles flying, and soaring up above my head.I love flowers, I'm just a nature person. I don't have a favorite type of food either, although I prefer things I don't have to cook ;) like vegetables, and fruit. I am an excellent cook, many people have asked me to fix certain plates for them when they have dinners or family gatherings, it's just that now I have been cooking for what seems like forever so I really don't like to cook much, but I still do almost everyday, and I give God the glory because I am still able to do so. My ministry is I translate any teaching books, or church training material from English into Spanish, I also translate lyrics from English into Spanish for my church and the church choir. I also volunteer at our church bookstore. There are many other things I do that I have a gift for but they are between my Father God and myself. Woman in the Bible I most relate to ..... hmmm... not sure. but I know who I want to be like..... I sure would like to be like the virtous woman in chapter 31 of Proverbs. She's a superwoman :D. And finally I praise God for EVERYTHING. He is my Joy, my Deliverer, my Salvation..I cannot not, nor will I ever try to narrow my praises to Him. I praise Him from the moment I get up till the moment I go to sleep and anytime inbetween. Even when things go wrong, sisters, I praise Him because, He will always make a way for me.
