Title: America - World's Police? Post by: Bronzesnake on August 23, 2005, 02:48:25 PM I decided to post this topic because I hear a lot of people complain, "it's not America’s place to be the world's policeman"
Let me give my opinion. There has to be a global "police force" Anyone who disagrees with that reality isn't really thinking it through. What would people think if their local police force was suddenly disbanded? How about their county police force, what if that was disbanded? What would happen if the state police forces were disbanded? Let's think about the utter chaos that would ensue if the entire country's police forces were disbanded, what would happen then? I think we would all agree that if these police forces were gone, the criminals would be very happy, and there would be widespread raping and pillaging. No one would be safe - all your property would very quickly be taken away from you - you would be murdered for it - sex fiends would hunt down our wives and children. Most people would agree this would be a likely scenario. Why do these same people think the world shouldn't have a police force? For those who know the world needs a police force, but don't want America to be that force, then who is better equipped to do the job? Which other country do you trust more than your own? I am severely tired of hearing people, and especially Americans, complain about how "evil" their countries leaders are. Which other country would you rather live in? Which other country has better leaders? How would you like to live in China, or Russia, or India, or etc? This planet is a very dangerous place my friends. I liken it to a schoolyard in a tough part of town. The bullies soon take it over if left unchallenged. The weaker, gentler kids get beat up, and are forced to succumb to the whims of the bigger, tougher, meaner kids. All it takes is for one strong, "good" kid, to stand up to the bully. Once that happens all the other kids in the yard can begin to feel safer, and actually have some fun instead of constantly worrying about the bully. Thank God for America's might, and will to keep evil at bay. Yes, they do get their hands dirty, but it's a dirty playing field my friends. Stop being so naive. You are living in the richest, safest country in the world because your leaders made it that way. Be thankful. How far do you think the Saddams and the Maos, and Poll Pots and the Stalins and the Hitlers etc would have gone if America had not intervened? Think about what your saying. Save your condemnation for those who truly deserve it. If it wasn't for American might and "policing" you would be speaking German, or Russian right now, and you certainly wouldn't dare complain about your country in public. It's so easy to complain about your steak being over cooked when you've never known hunger. Title: Re:America - World's Police? The cat guarding the canary. :) If the U.N. is in charge, I can certainly expect that if my body is "ashes after the flashes" that someone will be severely repremanded. :-X ("Ashes after the flashes" - someone should write a country song... ;D ) Title: Re:America - World's Police? If it were up to many of their Arab members, Israel would be in ashes. Just look at the lob sided rulings the U.N. has made against Israel because of the Arab vote. The U.S. is in control and we're all safer because of it. Is the system perfect? Of course not, no system is. But our system is by far the best on the planet. If you don't believe me, ask any honest foreigner why they chose to come to America, and live here. |
