Title: Faith Post by: smartinez1984 on July 24, 2003, 09:45:49 AM We've been having a discussion at our church concerning miracles in general, whether it's healing, financial, etc. One of the main topics of debate, if you will, is whether or not a miracle is dependent solely on faith. The question is whether or not God's will is always to answer our petitions (valid requests obviously) and/or prayers as long as we have the faith or is there a question of God's will per request.
Thoughts? -Samson Title: Re:Faith Post by: Petro on July 24, 2003, 10:41:50 AM smartinez1984,
Its a miracle anyone is saved, to begin with, and those that are, are saved by faith, in direct answer to the prayer of confession, desiring to be forgiven of it. And since it is the will of God, that man repent and confess sin, those who do it, with (broken and contrite heart) God does not reject. I suppose anything that is done of God contrary to the laws of nature, can be categorized as a miracle, to be healed in an unexplainable way from terminal cancer, certainly would be considered a miracle..after praying the prayer of faith. As for the will of God, being answered, I would say, He always answers prayer according to His will, the problem is with us, who do not discern what his will is for each of us, and what the answer is, in fact sometimes we ask in prayer; "according to your will for me", and then do not accept the answer. As for faith being solely dependent on Him, it must be so, because, the working of miracles by God, are done outside of the sphere of influence we have control over, it is something, where we have done all we possibly physically can do, and recognized and acknowledge it, before Him. I think, the problem sometimes, is in seeking other mediums before seeking Him, when we should seek Him in all things. God Bless, Petro |
