Title: "Fun With Prophesy" Post by: JudgeNot on July 14, 2005, 12:44:38 PM I know there are quite a few on this board who have disdain for Hal Lindsey - mostly because in his early 70's book "Late Great Planet Earth" he stated he thought it would all be over with by around 1984. All I can say is Hal has never claimed to be a prophet - merely a person attempting to understand Biblical Prophesy.
Anyhow – I thought this was worth passing along, enjoy… Israel: The True Wonder of the Ancient World Hal Lindsey While grocery shopping the other day, I perused the gamut of the usual ‘gossip magazines’ that clutter the check-out stand. I was amazed to find several of them with cover stories on the “Amazing prophecies of Nostradamus.” Read Full Story: http://www.hallindseyoracle.com/articles.asp?ArticleID=11515 (http://www.hallindseyoracle.com/articles.asp?ArticleID=11515) Cheer and blessings to all, JN Title: Re:"Fun With Prophesy" Post by: cris on July 14, 2005, 02:17:30 PM I know there are quite a few on this board who have disdain for Hal Lindsey - mostly because in his early 70's book "Late Great Planet Earth" he stated he thought it would all be over with by around 1984. That's a good article. Interesting, exhilarating, and scary, even though I'm a Christian. What I mean by scary is that after all these thousands of years, the finality of time, as we've known it, is fast approaching. It's mind boggling to think we are alive and at the threshold. In reading the bible, sometimes I feel as if I were living in those same biblical times, but alas, in reality, this year is 2005. Now, I'm going to sort of contradict what I just said. Those heavily into prophecy, (besides Hal Lindsay) seem to think that that time will be between 2012 and 2020. I cannot imagine Israel discovering oil and becoming a world leader in that short a period. I know anything is possible with God, but it's mind boggling to me. I think Jesus warned us about this season, and He said not to fear because it has to take place, but to carry on with everyday life, didn't He? Oh, all I can think of right now is, Blessed be His holy name! Quote It just might have to do with his divorces and remarriages..... Now - there's a thought, X. :-X ;DSeriously, Reba - I don't know how to answer to that. I'm my wife's second time around (for 23 years, now), and we are the victims of two failed divorces in that 23 years. :) Jimmy Swaggart can still bring me to tears with his preaching - and we all know his public transgressions. I just can't judge what's truly in Hal's heart. That's Jesus job. :) Ollie said: Quote Aren't there some out there of an opinion that those prophecies in Ezekiel have been fulfilled? Yep. I have. And I will not pretend to know for certain whose ideas are more correct. To me, that's what makes interpeting prophesy so much "fun" - the compelling arguments on each side. God has told us the whole story and put His plan clearly before us. But as any child, we just don't get it. BUT we will eventually! God bless all! JN |
