Title: Disturbing question Post by: sniperspy on July 20, 2003, 11:53:36 PM Here is an odd question about prayer I came about on some website (I forgot the name) that I was browsing.
"Why is it when you talk to God you are praying, but if he talks back, you are considered crazy?" This refers to Christians and non-Chritians alike, and raises some questions about our society. Title: Re:Disturbing question Post by: Symphony on July 21, 2003, 05:32:40 PM Some people justify their crimes by saying "God" told them to... Prayer is spiritual. God speaking in return to me, many times, is used by people to justify their actions in the carnal, or physical world. God has already spoken--over and over, to the prophets and saints of old. It's all written down. And He "speaks" to us, today, through that scripture. He can still speak otherwise today. Who am I to say that He can't? It's just that I would be careful of such a claim. Ideally, we the saints should all be walking daily in "the Spirit", and communing with God every moment, moment to moment, so that effectively everything we are saying and doing is, "God speaking". Thanks, sniperspy. |
