Title: Christian "Secessionists" Post by: JudgeNot on July 03, 2005, 11:31:10 AM I note the Christian secessionists are back in the news.
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=45102 (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=45102) I think this is an interesting idea – except for the ‘secession’ part. I really don’t believe secession is necessary. Let’s use the Amish as an example. The Amish stress humility, family and community, and separation from the world. They understand we are in the world – not of the world, and they successfully practice what they preach. Their biggest problems seem to be conflicts with buggies and automobiles, and whether they (the Amish) must use big orange triangles or simple reflective tape on their vehicles of choice. And here’s one for you: Did you know that the ACLU consistently sides with the Amish on issues of religious liberties? That fact floored me! I think the trick to keeping the ACLU out of one's hair is to make sure you don’t have atheists or Wiccans (liberals ::)) in the community!! I wonder how one would accomplish THAT feat? Maybe we should take ‘Amish 101’. ;D God bless all, JudgeNot Title: Re:Christian "Secessionists" Post by: Soldier4Christ on July 03, 2005, 11:55:21 AM I know these people are doing this of their own free will but for some reason the words "concentration camp" comes to mind here.
Title: Re:Christian "Secessionists" Post by: nChrist on July 03, 2005, 07:18:13 PM Fascinating - I seem to remember reading something about this when it was still in the planning stages. Brother Jim, thanks for the link. The news story included a link for the organization that also includes some pretty interesting reading.

It is indeed an interesting concept. It shows that there are some Christians willing to do "what it takes" to get things done. I agree with them that things are not getting done in the present situations and that something else should be done. Perhaps this is the way?? Even if it doesn't work at least these people are giving it the good fight. |
