John Shelby Spong is an influential public speaker, writer and media figure. He is also Bishop of Newark in New Jersey. He claims he is a Christian yet he champions causes that historic Christianity has often fought tooth and nail against. Bishop Spong is well known for ordaining practising homosexuals, denying the bodily resurrection and virginal conception of Christ, and for deriving his moral code from modern human experience rather than the Bible.

This guy is a perfect example of someone who does not believe in a literal God, but pretends he does, and even becomes a Bishop in order to propagate his worldly morals into the Christian church.

 Anything goes with this clown. He is very proud of the homosexual priests he has ordained, and God's Word is a "spiritual lesson book" and absolutely must never be taken as literal!

 My question to this idiot is, why become a priest? Why make out to be an agent of God, when you don't believe in Him? What is the Catholic Church doing allowing this type of heretic into their ranks? This guy is one of many socialists who play dress up in order to further the social, worldly agenda.

 It's sickening, and truly sad, because week minded "Christians" are actually eating this new age Christianity up. They raise their children to follow it, and a whole generation of innocent kids will grow up believing that anything goes, and God accepts us no matter what we do.

And just for the record, he is not a Catholic Bishop. I felt I should add that, seeing as that article fails to mention the church he belongs, too.  The CatholicChurch is fighting hard, but with Such a large, international organazation, it is had to controll all of it. Even Paul the rest of the Church Fathers had problems keeping all their Church in line, and they only spand Europe and some of the Middle East! ;)

Does he hear from God? How can he, since he denies every attribute that God has counted to Himself.
