Title: suicide Post by: dragon on May 26, 2005, 10:30:42 PM is suicide a sin? i've decided to kill myself.
Title: Re:suicide Post by: Soldier4Christ on May 26, 2005, 11:02:03 PM dragon,
If you are really serious then you need to seek help from someone that you can talk to, your parents, pastor, even a crisis center would be better than no one. This world we live in can be cruel and hard on a person but suicide is not the answer. Yes it is definitely wrong to commit suicide. 1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1Co 3:17 If any man destroyeth the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, and such are ye. Title: Re:suicide Post by: Audax on May 26, 2005, 11:33:35 PM drag,
I strongly agree with Pastor Roger. Listen, if you commit suicide I'm absolutely convinced you're going to land in worse problems than you have now. Far worse and irreversable. Suicide is self murder. Several men in the Bible, under bad circumstances, prayed that God would take their lives. They were in deep despair. I believe perhaps Job and maybe Jeremiah are examples of this, I'm not sure. But this is not the same as suicide. Suicide is a choice to face God as a murderer. Saul did, and he was a man that was lost. The book of 1John says, "and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him." Please DO NOT risk this. I'm convinced you'll go to hell where the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched. Rev 21:6-8 Then He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. "He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part {will be} in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." Quote i think it depends on the person. only God knows their reasons/motives/circumstances. and since any sin can be forgiven, yes, it is possible that someone who commits suicide can go to heaven. I'm sorry that's just not true. It's just hypothetical theory. The Bible is all about REALITY and the above passage from Revelations shows this. Another thing I want to point out is that you've asked questions before about what we have to believe to get to heaven. Those questions are legitimate, but the primary fact is that it's not what be believe that saves us but who we believe. We are saved by faith in God. This faith expresses itself through works or else it just isn't real faith. Even the demons believe in God and shudder in fear of hell. But their belief won't save them because it isn't belief that makes a difference in their lives. You're in a similar situation. If you believe in God then you're left with no choice. You can't commit suicide. That's an act of unbelief. I'd be scared to death. Hang in there friend. Please turn to the Psalms in your Bible and begin to pray and cry out to God. Put your faith in His love and care for you. Because Jesus Christ does love you. I'm praying for you. If you seriously don't have anywhere to turn, please private message me and I'll give you my email address or phone #. I won't give you any bull and I'll hear you out. Hang in there friend, it's a tuff life out there but there's much more to it than you've yet found. I promise. Clearly you are reaching out for help here and that is important. Suicide is not something to take lightly. I had a close friend who commited suicide a few years back, and I must tell you it was devistated me for some time. As Pastor Roger has suggested, I too would encourage you to speak with someone in person regarding this. We are more than willing to listen and help in anyway possible, but you need someone to walk you through this first hand. Don't give up! Your life has a purpose, and it would be a terrible waste to throw it away and miss so much that God has in store for you. I'll be praying for you Dragon, and also waiting for you to reply. Grace and Peace! Title: Re:suicide Post by: TEXASGRANDMA on May 27, 2005, 09:29:20 PM Suicide is the most selfish act a person can commit. So get help. Please! I have been touched by suicide twice and both times I seen people destoryed by this selfish act.
betty :'( Title: Re:suicide Post by: dragon on May 28, 2005, 02:58:10 PM i did something really horrible. i can't live with it anymore.
Title: Re:suicide Post by: TEXASGRANDMA on May 28, 2005, 03:17:33 PM There is no sin to big that God cannot forgive you. The fact that you are being convicted, means God is still dealing with you. If you felt no guilt at all that would be a problem. No matter how bad your sin is, please do not make it worse by killing yourself. Fall on your face before God and ask for forgivness. Then pray for Him to teach you how to live for Him. I can tell you that those you would leave behind after killing yourself, will bear the scars. I know this too well!
betty Title: Re:suicide Post by: Soldier4Christ on May 28, 2005, 04:13:11 PM I praise God that you returned here. Betty is right. Suicide will only serve to hurt those around you and will do you no good either. I have sent you a PM.
I, along with many others, are praying for you. Title: Re:suicide Post by: AJ on May 28, 2005, 07:56:48 PM 1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Praying for you too dragon... Title: Re:suicide Post by: 2nd Timothy on May 28, 2005, 09:11:12 PM i did something really horrible. i can't live with it anymore. Dragon, all sin is horrible in the sight of God. All men are guilty of sin. But Christ has already paid the penalty for your sin, no matter what that sin is. He's already died on YOUR behalf. I've done some pretty horrible things myself. I can relate to the guilt you feel. But the redeemer Lives friend. He's taken away the need for our dying. He's taken away the guilt and the shame we bear. He bore all those things for us on the cross at calvary. The very thing you feel a need to die for, Christ bore it already. Its gone, its forgotton by Him, the moment you ask Him to forgive you. Why, because its already paid for. Its forgotten when you ask. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Joh 19:30 ....Jesus said "It is finished". That includes everything that you have ever done no matter how bad. God doesn't want you dead. He died for you so you could have life Dragon. He Loves you that much...even before you have given yourself over to Him. He chose to die for us while we were still in our sins. Theres no need to hide your sin from Him....He knows it better than you, and forgives the GUIILT of that sin the moment you ask. Psa 32:5 I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"; And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah. The guilt is just like a bag of bricks you carry over your shoulder. You can continue to carry it and let it drag you down, or you can simply set it down. Set it down at the cross where it belongs. He carried it for you already. He paid the price for you already. He died for you already. Set it down and step into life, its FREE! Your pardon awaits nothing more than you acknowledging Him and giving your guilt and sin to Him. Misery loves company, and theres no better company than the One who already died in your place. Think about it, wont you? Grace and Peace! Title: Re:suicide Post by: Soldier4Christ on May 29, 2005, 07:23:44 PM Hi dragon,
I see that you are back on. How are you doing? Title: Re:suicide Post by: Kristi Ann on May 30, 2005, 06:25:54 PM ummm dragon We Love you and so does God!
It not only hurts yourself you hurt others in your path. Please Know Jesus Died for anything you have done, and it's forgivable through His Blood on the Cross! Look, I am severly disabled and sometimes I don't want to live either! But, God always Steps in and Tells me He Loves me! FootPrints in the Sand One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it: "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me." The LORD replied: "My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you." hugs, YSIC \o/ KristiAnn MsGuidedAngel Title: Re:suicide Post by: Bronzesnake on May 31, 2005, 06:13:57 PM Dragon.
There is nothing that you could have done that Jesus is not able to wipe out and never remember again! There may be earthly consequences to whatever it is that you have done, but we are not "earthlings" forever! We are Heaven bound my brother! Throughout the scriptures there are numerous examples of men at their worst. Look at King David! He was a murderer, an adulterer etc. God loved him, and forgave him, even though there were consequences to be paid on earth. If you take your own life, you are in effect telling Jesus that He is a liar, and not able to keep His promise to all who believe in Him. Take your sins to Him and He will forgive and forget, it's God's promise! Title: Re:suicide Post by: dragon on June 02, 2005, 02:05:14 PM i'm a little better now. thank you.
Title: Re:suicide Post by: TEXASGRANDMA on June 03, 2005, 01:08:06 PM Dragon,
I am glad you are better. Begin to reach out to others. As we reach out to meet the needs of others we help ourselves. Even if it is just a word of encouragment to the clerk at the store, or a smile to a stranger, you will begin to feel a light of hope in your own heart. Don't give up. God is with you my friend and we do care about you. David said in Psalms to encourage yourself in the Lord, so give yourself little pep talks. Be thankful for the little things. Force yourself to take a short walk every day and as you walk praise God for the sunlight, the trees, the flowers, and any animal you see. Talk to God about your problems and ask Him to bring peace to your heart and mind. betty Title: Re:suicide Post by: Bronzesnake on June 03, 2005, 01:20:51 PM i'm a little better now. thank you. OK my friend. Don't stop now, get yourself immersed in Jesus. He loves you, He longs to hold you, He calls out for your my friend. Find a Bible believing pastor and tell him everything. Jesus will keep His promise, that is a guarantee. Once you truely embrace Him your problems will be dealt with, you will be 100% forgiven by the Almighty God of eternity and that is an awsome power my friend. Once He forgives you, there is no angel born in Hell that can hold your sins against you any longer. satan and his demons desire that you run from Jesus. they hear is very name and tremble with fear! Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY POWER when we are with Him and He is with us, nothing can stand against us! Jesus promises us that when we confess our deepest darkest sins to Him, that He will forgive all, and He promises to NEVER, EVER remember them again. How awsome is that? Title: New Hope Post by: Audax on June 03, 2005, 01:21:00 PM Wow, those Texas Grandmas know their stuff. Great stuff Betty!
