Title: Conscience Post by: JudgeNot on April 28, 2005, 02:26:47 PM It looks like Jesus is at work in Oklahoma (not too far from Mr. BEP's toen of Lawton, as a matter of fact...)
ENID, Okla. (AP) - There may be a burglar with a conscience in Garfield County. A television, stereo, and VCR were stolen over the weekend from a house in the small town of Kremlin. Undersheriff Jerry Niles said the woman who lives at the house called deputies Monday night to say that someone broke into her house again while she was away, returned the electronics gear, even restoring the wiring and repairing a door jamb damaged in the original break-in. "It was spooky," Niles said. He said it was the first time he has ever seen all of the property taken in a burglary returned like that. Deputies are still investigating the case. Title: Re:Conscience Post by: M on May 02, 2005, 11:33:44 AM Maybe it was someone else who returned the electronics and repaired the door. Someone might be covering up for a family member. Likely the culprit will strike again and this is not their first crime.
One of my friends had her window smashed in and door wrecked. Who ever did it sweeped up the glass on the floor with her broom. She had left her wallet on the kitchen counter; it was untouched as was everything in her home. The police said it must have been someone who was mistakened about her house. Too bad she was out $500 to replace the door and they didn't have enough money to buy her new baby a crib. Title: Re:Conscience Post by: JudgeNot on May 02, 2005, 11:48:12 AM M said:
Quote Someone might be covering up for a family member Excellent point - I hadn't thought of that aspect. That is just something that could happen in those parts, too - family certainly takes care of family. (But we can still hope it was Jesus moving in someone's heart!) God Bless, Jim Title: Re:Conscience Post by: Tibby on May 02, 2005, 01:52:28 PM It much just have been a prank by the friends of the homeowners. They planned to jack their stuff, ang give it back, but they accendentallly broke the door on the way out.
