Brother Tom. This toolbar looks really good. Do you know if there are any plans in the future for this tool bar to be adapted so that it will be able function on other browsers like firefox and opera? It sure would be nice for us folks who do not use IE as there default browser. Blessings Title: Re:Christians Unite Toolbar for Internet Explorer Post by: nChrist on May 04, 2005, 07:59:55 PM Quote Brother Tom. This tool bar looks really good. It sure would be nice for us folks who do not use IE as there default browser. Blessings Joey, Brother, you and I are in the same boat. I use Firefox 1.03 as my primary browser. I visit the site for new extensions to Firefox on a fairly frequent basis. If I remember correctly, there is an excellent Bible Search tool bar for Firefox. I didn't install it because I usually have a complete Bible study package running in the background all of the time. It's called e-Sword, and I have immediate access to many outstanding Bible tools immediately. I might or might not understand exactly how new extensions are added to Firefox. I'm not sure which programming language is used for the extensions, but they all seem to be very small, fast, and elegant. I actually think that some Firefox guru who knows the language of the extension takes a function for IE and re-writes it from the ground up to be used in Firefox. Brother Joey, I really don't know if there are any plans to port the new Christians Unite tool bar over to Firefox, but I'll try to find out. I've never tried Opera, but I understand it isn't compatible at all with utilities for IE. Firefox is also not compatible with most of them. I think that both require a complete re-write by a Opera guru or a Firefox guru, and they probably have to get permission before they do it. Brother, I'll try to get back with you. Love In Christ, Tom 1Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Thank you for your detailed answer. I will just keep looking out for when a announcment is made saying the toolbar is avaliable for firefox. Hows that for optimism? ;D I think that as browsers like firefox become more popular, and their is no doubt that they are, program developers will start making these programs for them. Thanks once again for the answer. I use Firefox, so I haven't tried it. I know that many are using it, so maybe you missed something in the install. Love In Christ, Tom Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding. shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. |
