Title: Renaming of a Mountain Post by: JudgeNot on April 14, 2005, 10:12:08 AM Art Mijares, of Oakley CA., wants to rename Mt. Diablo in the San Francisco Bay Area. (Source: Contra Costa Times, April 14, front page.) For those of you unacquainted with the Spanish language, ‘Diablo’ in English is ‘Devil’ or ‘Satan’. Mr. Mijares believes the name glorifies God’s nemesis and wants it changed.
Here’s my question: Where is the ACLU? If the mountain were named ‘Mt. Jesus’ the ACLU would be on it like ugly on a monkey. I think the ACLU should be forced into consistency. They should show the same rabid disdain for Satan as they do God. Will that happen? Not in our lifetime. The ACLU is Satan’s right hand in America. Quote I couldn't agree more about the ACLU. The purpose of the naming of Mt Diablo though is because of the red color it turns at sunset and the Spaniards that named it were Snaish soldiers who lost a battle with local indians. They thought it was because of the Devil that they lost that battle. Is that honoring the Devil? Perhaps so. Maybe it should be named after some of those Soldiers or the Indians they did battle with? I am also in complete agreement. The ACLU is the servant of the devil. They have been involved all over the country in trying to push God out of public view. They are much better funded than their adversaries, so they win a lot of cases because the other side doesn't have the money to fight.
