Hey guys, i figured i'd try out this poetry stuff. I just wrote this prayer/poem yesterday. So i'm a bit new at it. Thanks.

My Prayer

Lord, why is it I cannot seek thy face?
Is it due to my lack of faith,
Or is it the shallowness of my complacency?
But through it all it shall be revealed
and in due time, I shall defeat all of my foes.

Though dark as they may be,
Your light O Lord, will begin to lead me
To your throne so near I desire to be.
To become transformed by word and deed.

Lord, I falter before things unseen
And Lord, open mine eyes that I may see.
Lord, open mine ears that I may hear
Thy soft, gentle voice full of care.

Lord, show me the way you have prepared
And send someone to help me in my despair.
Lord, place the healing salve over mine eyes,
So that I may never again despise
The blindness that has tortured me all of my days.

Lord, my heart is breaking in two.
Father, help me again not to lose
The tumultuous batle that beats me down,
Down into the dark, muddy ground.

In my darkest hour, your love, O Lord,
Comes shining through
And your Word, your Word will remain true.
So Abba, Father, raise me up
Out of the muddy, miry, muck.

Lord, take me into thy hands and set me high on the mountain
So that I may take rest before the fountain
That springs forth the river of eternal life,
And end my years of misery and strife
From the battle so gallantly fought
And the years with which I sought
Thy gracious, loving Christ
Whose merciful face is all that shall suffice.
