Title: Christian Channels on Sky Post by: Hurting on February 10, 2005, 11:10:46 AM I watch these channels and think- are people supposed to take this seriously?
Yes, these people are praising God, but some people on these shows can be pretty over the top. I have only just found it while searching through the forums. I also have sky TV and have had for the past 15 years. This past few years have seen a large increase in the number of Christian channels on sky. Up until about 2 years ago, i watched an awful lot of these channels and yes like you, i thought should we be taking some of this seriously. But for me pesonally, i found a lot of these programs deceiving and hurtful and yes, i admit, i was suckered in by some of the preachers. There was one American preacher, a word of faith teacher, who i used to tithe to each month and when he was visiting the UK, i would go to his crusades, even if it was far from home. But after a while, i started to feel uneasy about certain things and i know God was showing me things that were not right and were false and Praise God, i now know how i was deceived but God put me straight. Since this time i have decided not to watch Christian TV very often, especially certain preachers and i may watch the odd program once a month or so. But also recently started on sky is the British Christian channel UBC which is very good and very diffrent from the other christian channels on sky. Title: Re: Christian Channels on Sky Post by: mstrohm on February 12, 2006, 12:04:58 PM We have been considering SKy TV Satellite. We are also considering the new DishFAMILY satellite network you can see here: http://www.allsat.com/family.php/?kbid=11787&sub=post&i=1 (http://www.allsat.com/family.php/?kbid=11787&sub=post&i=1) Have either of you had any experience with DishFAMILY? I think it is brand new. Some of the stations look similar to SKY and some I have never heard of.
Just wondering, Mark |
