Title: Maybe a silly question but... Post by: kittiara on January 16, 2005, 09:56:29 PM ...what about faeries? I know what God says about witches etc, but what about faeries?
The reason I ask is because I received these faerie wishing coins for Christmas. They are for finding balance etc. If you have read my prayer request, perhapsyou can understand that at the moment I would try such a thing but I have not, because I do not know if this would be against God's will. I have asked about it but not received an answer, or not heard an answer. I would like to believe that faeries are real and are good. And that perhaps they, too, were created by God, as are all things. if demons are real and malicious spirits are real, and there are angels that are good, then perhaps faeries are as well. Is anything known about this? So, perhaps a silly question but...well there you go. Title: Re:Maybe a silly question but... Post by: Willowbirch on January 26, 2005, 03:56:42 PM Personally (I haven't done a lot of research on it), I think faeries, djinns, etc. may have roots in angelic or demonic sources. Stories of these creatures appear in many cultures, and if I remember right, they are often dangerous, or at least mishievous, and usually invisible.
I don't trust the faerie "balance" coins, myself; anything that asks people to "open their minds" bothers me. My mother did something similar when she was younger, and for a few years she had recurring visions of demonic faces that wouldn't go away...when she tried to go to sleep at night, she could see these things on the ceiling, in a corner, etc... By the way, I've got lots of unicorn information...lol! Title: Re:Maybe a silly question but... And that perhaps they, too, were created by God, as are all things. I love fairy pictures. They make me smile. However, based on the many myths about fairies, they are not nice beings. They are mischeivous and spiteful. If they do exist, it strikes me that they're probably demons. As for "finding balance" with wishing coins, does that not fall into the same sphere as worshiping idols or following a false God? Balance can only be found through our faith. We don't need to use pagan rituals. Title: Re:Maybe a silly question but... Post by: kittiara on January 29, 2005, 10:20:44 PM Many thanks to everyone that answered this question :)
And my apologies for the delay and not having been around for a few days. When I posted this question, the first time I was here, I was feeling rather awful mentally and as I had received the coins as a gift for Christmas and did feel so awful, I was about ready to try anything....but did not wish to try them because I was worried about God's view on these matters and indeed if perhaps it would invite not so nice things. I have decided not to use them. The only way to get better is indeed to work on it myself and to have faith in God. Many thanks again...and Willow..that sounds horrible what happened to your mom. I am glad that it stopped! I definitely would not like something like that to happen. I do like unicorns and reading about elves and fairies and such, dragons.. :). But it sure is better not to try and meddle with things. Thanks so much again, Kit |
