In church we do it as an echo too where the men are encouraged to lead and the women echo, except for the last two lines, and they are song together. I also like newer hymns but the "old ballads" just have my heart!

Post by: Soldier4Christ on January 12, 2006, 11:08:17 PM I'm partial to what is known as Appalachian folk music, I guess because my Grandma used to sing it when I was real little. Songs such as Mansion "Just Over The Hill Top", "Meet Me Over On The Other Side", "Money Won't Buy This Soul Of Mine", "In the Highways".
