Title: Tsunami, No More: (Awesome!)

Tsunami, No More: "...And there was no more sea."

The earth was created in absolute perfection. My soul rips at me as I write and consider the indescribable sorrow and suffering of the multitudes around the Indian Sea. A man by the name of Mr. Hitchcock speaking for Rush Limbaugh said in response to this calamity, "The earth will be the earth." But, in truth, we must not accuse the earth for the multiple sorrows that result because of nature, or should I say, because of unnature. The earth was not created with this kind of natural upheaval. For almost two thousand years after the creation, the earth manifested nothing of a destructive action. It was a pure and perfect world full of beautiful creatures, a happy family ready to fill the earth with people to love the Creator and enjoy sheer happiness on a Heavenly scale. Solid anthropological information suggests that the population on earth at the time of the flood was well over one billion souls.
The kind of world that was enjoyed by the pre-flood multitude is exciting to consider. In some beautiful fashion, the earth was enfolded by waters in a mist like form that caused the atmosphere to be life giving and beautiful. The cloudy mist was both refreshing and protective. No atmospheric poison could exist, neither could the rays of the sun negatively affect the lifestyle of earth’s inhabitants. The average life span was over nine hundred years and men easily begat children after they were six hundred years old. The mental capacity was absolutely brilliant. I believe the photographic memory of a few persons in our day was a natural occurrence in the first families of the earth. The first language, as has been discovered in Sumar, Southern Iraq, was a pictorial language. They wrote with pictures because they thought on a much higher plane than the later script forms of today.
But, sin had invaded the pristine world and slowly but surely man was sinking into the mire of his evil imaginations. One woman wasn’t enough to satisfy man’s growing lust. The great Creator was slowly forgotten and mankind began to seek for gods to satisfy their longing for a more accepting deity. The great temple/ziggurat at Uruk/Erech of Genesis 10:10 -- was within the boundary of Eden and may have existed long before the flood. The goddess Ninurta was worshipped within this temple court, maybe even by Cain, the murderous son of Adam and Eve.
The Creator had to turn the tide of man’s descent into the muck and mire of their wild imaginations. Imagine today, four thousand years later, what our world would be like if there had been no interruption of human filth. A loving Father of all the human family moved to interrupt the dark course that the human multitude had chosen. The earth, beautiful and a paradise of enjoyment and pleasure, was soon turned into a reflection of the very lifestyle man had chosen in rebellion against the Creator Himself. The problem was not the earth, but the evil ways man had chosen. Nothing that has happened on this earth since that day can be used to accuse God or the earth. The earth is responding to the godlessness on its surface. The earth was created in purity and pristine beauty and it is quick to revolt against anything less. The world, which was created by a Holy God, cannot sustain a godless populace.
This event in the Indian Ocean and its borders is the greatest apocalyptic event in our lifetime. It is a harbinger of what is soon to occur on a worldwide scale. The earth cannot survive much longer under the wicked blasphemy it is enduring. Our God and Heavenly Father has already given a perfect description of the future and it will transpire exactly as He promised.
A little study of the science of geology will reveal to us the results of the Genesis flood. By the Holy Spirit Moses wrote, "In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened." "And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered." (Genesis 7:11,19) The total earth was literally cast about forming great mountains and gigantic oceans. The evidence of this absolutely fills the results of geologist documentation.
In a great book entitled, The Genesis Flood, the author recounts the following, "Almost all of the sedimentary rocks of the earth, which are the ones containing fossils and from which the supposed geologic history of the earth has been largely deduced, have been laid down by moving waters. This statement is so obvious and so universally accepted that it needs neither proof nor elaboration. Sedimentary rocks by definition are those that have been deposited as sediments, which the Oxford Universal Dictionary defines as ‘earthy or detrial matter deposited by aqueous agency.’" (The Genesis Flood, J. C. Ward & Henry M. Morris, p 124.)
Again, they said, "A great part of the earth’s land surface is covered with material originally ejected from volcanic cones or vents. Rocks formed by volcanic action are called igneous, from a Latin term for ‘fire.’ Without them, no continent would have assumed anything like its present features." (Ibid. p. 126.) "Most of the sedimentary rocks of the earth’s crust, which are the ones containing fossil remains and which therefore provide the chief basis of geologic interpretation of earth history, have been laid down as sediments by moving water (some have apparently been formed by wind, glaciers, or other agencies, but by far the largest part of sedimentary rocks are aqueous in origin)." (Ibid. p. 144.)
Present day geologists have documented fault lines at different locations that were all the results of this upheaval in the Book of Genesis. Before the tidal waves reached most of the locations on December 26, 2004, geologists had already detected this movement from thousands of miles and tried to warn the countries, at least in part, where this present devastation would occur. If we will simply study and believe the Bible and interpret it in context with the unbiased finding of present day discoveries, we will understand the calamities our world is enduring.
The future judgment of this earth will match in part what the flood reflected in our Bible. Jesus said, "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." "And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." (Matthew 24:37, 39) In a seven year period not 100,000 to 200,000 will be killed, but somewhere between 3,000,000,000 and 5,000,000,000 will die incredible deaths. Even stars by the multitudes will fall upon this earth. The sun will go out and the moon will pour forth blood. (Joel 2:30-31, Acts 2:20)
When the judgment is over, the Bible declares, "...And there was no more sea." (Revelation 21:1) This earth will return to its pristine and paradise state. The oceans and vast lands will disappear and become gardens of exotic beauty and Heavenly purity. Sin will have been judged and put away along with all human rebellion. If you can imagine an array of flower gardens, the most beautiful of trees loaded with delicate fruit along spotless beaches on gentle rivers, all without naked bathers and worldly resorts filled with fornicating sinners, then you can begin to think of our future earth. It will be a world without locks and keys. The police will no longer be needed.
The earth will be lighted by the glory of New Jerusalem and even those who do not inherit this city will live in the shadow of its magnificent beauty. No millionaire or king in our day can even begin to match his splendor with that which awaits the least of our Father’s saints. With sorrows forever banished, our eternity will never be disrupted by sudden fears and heartrending sorrows. That eternal reward cannot be far away. The saints have already been patient too long.
