I wanted to change the password that I was given when I registered. I had this same problem when I registered with another forum. Please help. :'(

My first question would be, "did you try to use HTML or something other than just plain "A-Z, a-z, 0-9"? If so, most forum software won't accept HTML code like what is used to do a web page. It's rejected because there are many dangerous things that can be done with HTML code and other kinds of code. That wouldn't be an error, rather a security feature. The forum software also won't accept anything it recognizes as forum code, but that shouldn't be a problem unless you are trying to use something other than plain letters and numbers in your password. Some punctuation characters are used for forum code as a replacement for HTML code. I first assume that the database error was from the forum software and not your computer. If so, it would probably be an illegal character or code. Try plain letters and numbers and let me know. There is also a minimum and maximum length for the password that must be followed, or there will be a database error. This is a first for this problem being mentioned out of thousands of users, so I would suspect one of the things mentioned above.
