Title: The night of Thanksgiving
Post by: Shammu on November 16, 2004, 03:52:09 PM
'Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn't sleep.
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned -- the dark meat and white,
But I fought the temptation with all of my might.

Tossing and turning with anticipation,
The thought of a snack became infatuation.

So, I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door
And gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
'Til all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky,
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.

But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees,
Happy eating to all -- pass the cranberries please.

May your stuffing be tasty, may your turkey be plump,
May your potatoes 'n gravy have nary a lump,
May your yams be delicious, may your pies take the prize,
May your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs!

Have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!! ;D

DreamWeaver, Brothers and Sisters,

I sincerely do wish all of you a beautiful Thanksgiving. Christians are already rich in the treasures of our LORD, so that's enough to give thanks for. Yet, we have many other things to give thanks for every day. I'm thinking about our freedoms, especially our freedom to worship Jesus. I'm also thinking about many other Christians in the world who are being persecuted or killed for their beliefs.

Evangelist gave some shocking numbers about Christians around the world who do not have peace and safety in the worship of Jesus. We need to remember them in prayer when we give thanks for all that our LORD has provided for us.

God has richly blessed all of us. I also give thanks for the sweet Christian fellowship we have here.

Love In Christ,
Tom
