Title: Need Encouragement Post by: live4him on June 25, 2003, 01:07:20 AM Hi all. I am new to this forum. I just need a little encouragement for myself right now. I am feeling down due to lots of stress and headaches. I have six kids, I home-school and lately have come under lots of frustration with the kids. although after reading some of the posts here I am feeling much better since I see my problems are so minor compared to others. I thank God for my kids health and mine. I praise his Hoyly name.
The thing is sometimes I just feel so increadibly overwhelmed, I sometimes day dream about running away. Raising kids is so hard and it only seems to be getting worse. :( Title: Re:Need Encouragement Post by: Whitehorse on June 25, 2003, 02:21:25 AM Dear friend, I will pray that the Lord sends you a special blessing to ease the burden and that He will be a spring of refreshment for you. That's a lot of work, homeschooling that many children and keeping a household, too. Maybe it's time for a break; have you gone on a vacation lately? Or a weekend retreat. Sometimes I think mothering is a job that gets taken for granted, but you need to give yourself permission to get away sometimes. I think it's so easy to get caught up in the needs of others that we forget about ourselves. Please don't let that happen.

I've relatives who homeschool; known several here, but not sure any with six. Maybe sincereheart here maybe has that many and homeschools. She seems to be a real trooper. Not sure if her email is here or not. She doesn't check in too often. I think we can imagine why. I think she's managed to delegate some of it to the older ones. I think her eldest is twenty. It's harder and harder these days. We pay taxes for schooling; other parents "outsource" the education part(public schooling); but b/c of the morality, etc., issues, we(Christians) have to do double duty--pay the taxes and YET still do the education ourselves. It's all very unfair. We are double tithed--we tithe for the church, which we are happy to do; then we tithe for the secular government. Under the old Hebrew law, your government tithe WAS your church tithe. You are doubly taxed. Blahhhh. In Jesus Name I pray for live4him, Lord... In Jesus Name...
