I understand they really need someone who will be much more strict and rigid than Ashcroft, especially in the area of Homeland Security.

I believe the homeland security is already built and strong our government can only do so much in protecting us through the homeland security. I dont think that it is no longer an issue anymore. Homeland security is as strong as it wil ever be. What i liked about Ashcroft was that he was firm and rigid and carried out his plans.also he did his very best in protecting the americans afterall we (america) has not been attacked again since 9/11 on american soil. What does need to be addressed are two issues. 1. Our borders 2. Our president in favor of an Arab State in Israel we need to be against an Arab State.Our president favoring a murderous arab people and giving them there own entity in Israel. I do agree that we need somebody that has the same back bone of Ashcroft and will carry out his orders. Michael Title: Re:Ashcroft Resigned! To create a balance between the safety of the people of our nation and the freedom of those people is not an easy task. One that can be trying on anyones health.

I agree that Ashcroft did an excellent job. My comment about him not being strict enough was a tongue-in-cheek reply to our resident troll, coptic. Ashcroft was obviously known as tough and strict, and he was probably the right man for the right job and the right time. I'm really sorry that he is ill. I would not be surprised if the pressure of the job in such difficult circumstances caused the health problems for Ashcroft. I think that our nation owes him and others a big thank you for protecting our soil and our people. Love In Christ, Tom |
