Jewelry today is big business, of which a few are at least Christians or possibly Jews. Jews seem to figure centrally in the history of Jewelry, somehow; maybe that's why it's called 'jew-el-ry'?? Adornment of the human body beyond adequate clothing is not at all encouraged in the New Testament. Fancy braided hair is spoken against, but costly raiment is fine. Think also of the Priest's breast plates.

A cross around the neck? People who I know to be non-religious, or at least non-Christian wear crosses all the time.
