Title: religion
Post by: Whelan0000 on October 20, 2004, 12:19:36 AM
Does anyone get it that religion has been the "curse" of mankind?  I wonder if you believe that Jesus ever taught a religion?  We are just as guilty of crimes against humnity as those who killed in 9/11...providing you , hate, are a religious fanatic, and cannot accept change.  Yup, you are  on your way to the terror camps....

Hi there Whelan i disagree with you on your premise, religion is not the root problem. I agree that it's partially the problem if you look what the scriptures teach mankind has a rebellious heart and hates to hear about truth and most of all we are born into sin we are sinful people with a hope of a redeemer Christ Jesus who saves us eternally. We inherited the curse of sin through Adam.

Remeber Jesus never taught any religion scriptures reveal that Christ was the Scripture and Christ taught and shown salvation and love and how to have a relationship with Him.

Everyone has a problem with sin even those who where killed in 9/11. You and Me and everyone has a problem with sinning and Christ says if we break one commandement we have broken them all. We all deserve death and we do not deserve heaven we do deserve to be in hell. We are only saved through the Atoinment through the Messiah on the cross and the Blood He shed that we may enter into heaven. The Perfect LOVE.

Michael

Who told you you were "we are born into sin?"  You see, I have a different view of the GOD I love and HE is not a god who would allow anyone to be responsible for their birth place and environment.  If HE is...then HE sins not you or I.

***Actually the same "road" as you.  The difference being, you are caught up in a lot of lies about our FATHER. The Creator of the Universe we ALL share, not some...

Scriptures teach us we are born into sin Whelan.

God is a God who allows us to be born into sin because of mankind fallen reprobrate and fallen nature.

Remeber without being born into sin we could not realize and experience the salvation of the Messiah and His love for us. ;D

Well, Whelan0000...for you to say that "The difference being, you are caught up in a lot of lies about our FATHER" shows that you are making a very big assumption about people who you know nothing about. I do not know what your background or experiences have been, but I can tell you are acting upon conclusions that YOU have made up in YOUR mind.

As brother love mentioned, we really do not know what "road" you are on. You rhetorically ask if Jesus taught a religion? Personally, christianity is not a religion to me, its a relationship with God. From your rhetorical question, you are assuming that I dont believe what I just said. Now, you may be angry at something but it is not your place to chide anyone based on YOUR ASSUMPTIONS.

If you can get over your assumptions and explain exactly what's on your mind or what's irking you, then maybe we can give you an adequate answer. It is obvious that you have something to say and you should just be blatant and say it.

May i point out that every group has its fundamentalists

from a religion to atheism

lets think what else oh politics and other things such as music for instance in a sense has its own "fundies'"

I think it may have to do with the "everyone is different thing"

does anyone else agree with this?

Actually, religion isn't the curse, its just the result of making the wrong prognosis of mans problem   ;)   Does man really die because he is religious, or is he religious because he doesn't want to die?

Sin is the curse.  Religion is mans answer....Christ is Gods answer!   The real question is, who do you trust more?

Grace and Peace!

I think the correct term here is denominations not religion. Yes I agree, to a certain extent, that denominations has become a curse to Christians. It is not "The" curse of mankind. It became a curse when man decided to make up rules and laws and different interpretations of the Bible to fit their own agendas that created divisions in the body of Christ.

As born again Christians we are all members of The Church. I use the term "The Church" meaning the assembly of all christians, the body of Christ. Not a building.
