Title: The Judgement Seat of Christ
Post by: Bronzesnake on August 04, 2004, 12:58:16 AM
There are at least five different judgements mentioned in the Bible.

1) The judgement seat of the believere's sin.

2,000 years ago Jesus came down from Heaven's glory to shed His precious blood for a world of ungodly sinners. He did not die for His own sin, for He knew no sin, but became sin for us...
2Cr 5:21 For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Through this substitutionary death - dying for you and me - all who receive this Christ can have the past, present, and future stains immediately forgiven, forgotten, obliterated, and liquidated, because....1Jo 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

As soon as the washing of regeneration (Titus 3:5) takes place, God cries, their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more (Hebrews 8:12) The result of being so completely washed in the blood is, there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:10) This is true because Christ was already judged in the sinners place.

2) The second judgement is of the believer's service

 Bema seat judgement.
Rom 14:11 For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
Rom 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

 Second Corinthians 5:10 adds....
2Cr 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body, according to that he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad.

Millions of God's children throughout the planet think they can live nominal Christian lives and still be fully rewarded. They think they can play "fast and loose" with the world without suffering loss. This is but wishful thinking! The day is quickly comingwhen every blood-bought believer must stand before the Holy God for a scrutinizing investigation! A line from a popular Beatle song comes to mind... "And in the middle of investigations, I breakdown and cry!" When you trace the english term judgement seat to it's Greek origin, there the term is Bema Seat.

3) The third judgement is of Israel

During the Tribulation hour, an enemy comes against Israel from the North. (see Ezekiel 38 and 39) Then the nations of the world also converge on the Middle East (see Zechariah 14:2) and this period of devestation becomes the time of Jacob's trouble(eremiah 30:7)

4) The fourth judgement of the nations.

Matthew 25 pictures the return of Christ to this earth. The text correlates to and is synonymous with Revelation 19:11-16 when Christ returns to earth as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Before He establishes His millennial kingdom upon earth for 1,000 years ( see Revelation 20:4) , He purges the earth of it's rebels (see Matthew 25:31-46). The righteous are then allowed to enter God's earthly kingdom utopia for 1,000 years, and eventually Heaven, eternally. This transaction is observed in 1 Corinthians 15:24-25 which states... 1Cr 15:24 Then [cometh] the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Cr 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

5) The fifth and final judgement is of the wicked and is       commonly called "The great Judgement Day"

Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

My friends, the hour is coming when every unsaved, unregenerate sinner must meet the Holy God for a detailed review of his life upon the planet earth. When God's books are opened, every offenders tongue shall be silenced. There will be no hope then, but there is now! Why? Because Jesus died for our sins (see 1 Corinthins 15:3). This means that the guiltiest of mortals can immediately be absolved by trusting in the merits of the shed blood of Jesus. ( this is for the unsaved amung us here) Don't procrastinate - do it today!

Bronzesnake,

AMEN BROTHER!!

I give thanks that I will be judged at the Bema Seat, NOT the Great White Throne Judgment.

I deserve to be punished along with those who will stand before the Great White Throne, but the Blood of Jesus Christ has rescued me from that. I will NOT be condemned because Jesus Christ is THE LORD over my life, my Lord and Saviour. I will not be condemned and punished because Jesus Christ took my punishment in HIS own body.

I'm so happy to know beyond any doubt that I will spend eternity with Jesus Christ that I really care little about any rewards I might receive at the Bema Seat. I've already been given riches beyond imagination IN CHRIST, so I can't imagine what could possibly be added to that in terms of a reward. I especially consider that I deserve nothing but punishment, but Jesus held out HIS HANDS to me, I took HIS nail-scarred hands, and NOW - HE HOLDS ME - SAFE AND SECURE FOREVER!! I did nothing to earn or deserve HIS LOVE, but HE did and does love me.

In fact, Jesus Christ paid in full for me, and I have been delivered to HIM as a purchased possession forever. There is no installment plan for paying HIM back - simply because it was a free GIFT that HE gave me. I listened to the beautiful TRUTH about what Jesus Christ did for me on the CROSS and how HE took my place and took the punishment that should have been mine. HE did die for me, but HE arose from the dead to be my Living Lord and Saviour forever. I believe this and welcomed HIS HANDS when HE reached out for me. NOW, I know about all of HIS promises, especially that HE will keep all of them. There is no condemnation IN JESUS, so HE has rescued and saved me from what I really deserved.

The very least that I can think of doing every day is giving my heart-felt THANKS to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I feel a burden to pray for those who are lost and ask Jesus to use HIS children in every way to bring the lost to HIM. I also feel a burden to ask Jesus to help me be fit for HIS use and yielded to HIS will and purpose. All good that Jesus does in or through me will simply be GLORY TO HIM.

Thanks be unto GOD for HIS unspeakable GIFT, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour forever!!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Tom...My Brother!
So well spoken my friend. I really wish we were closer, because I would love to meet you and become friends up close.
You inspire me brother, and I thank you for it.

I agree with you Tom...I deserve an eternity in Hell, but because the Lord of my life has paid the ultimate price for me, a sinner! God died for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can hardly comprehend it Tom, but I accept it, and I look forward to His Blessed appearing.

Amen my brothers and sisters...Jesus does love us! He did die for us, so we could be cleansed and worthy of His eternal plan for each and everyone of us undeserving servants.

Thank you my Lord Jesus Christ...

Bronzesnake.

WOW,
this is very inlightening, do you have any objections if I make a copy of your post to share with others?
After reading this, I feel like falling on my face and crying in awe and wonder that I am judged by the blood of the Lamb......is Jesus wonderful. I will stand like so many others sin sick, and evil but because Jesus died for me I am made white as snow. LORD HAVE MERCY, I can't wait to meet my sweet Jesus face to face.
