Title: Exercise regimen

For those of us getting along in years, here is a little secret for building your arm and shoulder muscles. You might want to adopt this regimen.

Three days a week works well.

Begin by standing straight, with a 5-LB. potato sack in each hand.

Extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can-try to reach a full minute.

Relax.

After a few weeks, move up to 10-LB. potato sacks, and then 50-LB. potato sacks, and eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-LB potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight out for more than a full minute.

After you feel confident at that level, start putting a couple of potatoes in each of the sacks, but be careful not to overdo it.

I walk  all  over  Boston.  From the  Back  Bay  to  Cambridge.  From  Cambridge to  MIT  to  Charlestown.   All over  the  place.  On bridges.  Over  the  water.  Always  on  foot.  That's my exercise.

You don't have to walk all that much, Boston has that thing called the "T".   ;) ;D

Seriously, I spent several years flying to Boston on business related matters.  I found the T to be very easy to use and convenient.


I get most of my exercise by jumping to conclusions and running in circles, screaming and shouting.

I kinda do this excersise program already.  See, I start with a 5 lb bag of taters in one hand, and with the other, I pull one out, rinse it, and eat it.  Then, I switch hands and repeat the process only slower so as to get the full excersising affect.   ;D

I do Tae Bo 2-3 times a day and walk 1-2 days alternating.  I feel great!
