Title: Bloom County
Post by: Sapphire W34P0N on May 30, 2004, 11:56:39 PM
Did anyone ever read this hilarious newspaper comic strip by Berkely Breathed, back in the late '80s? Barring Calvin and Hobbes (and maybe Foxtrot), these are probably my favorite comic strips. I found three paperback collections my dad had bought up in our attic a long time ago, and only recently began to read them. Lots of political satire and '80s jokes. I highly recommend it.

Sapph - Berkely Breathed is a joy.  I have to log onto the great WWW to keep up on the adventures of the penguin named Opus; our local paper doesn't carry the strip - maybe because it is an on-again, off-again thing?
Calvin and Hobbs is another good one.  I read Foxtrot daily.

Did you ever rean Mallard Fillmore????  Hillarious.

(I also have a special connection with Sherman in Sherman's Lagoon - today's strip was particularly entertaining!)

Another one I connect with is 'Pearles Before Swine' - Oh - and 'Drabble'!!!!!

I have the whole collection of Bloom County right up until the name changed. Steve Dallas was one of my favorite characters.
