Title: Brilliant idea.
Post by: Symphony on May 15, 2004, 12:54:45 AM

Quick, get a patent on this:

Last I heard, divorce in U.S. had tipped the scales at more than 50 percent of marriages.

I've come up with a surefire way to remedy this.  Plus, it will allow attorneys or the divorce industry generally to still stay in business(and, therefore, they won't be likely to obstruct or discourage this revolutionary, brave and courageous idea):

Anticipatory, Preemptive, or, Preventive Divorce.

That is, require all marrying couples to go through divorce proceedings before they get married.

Children won't get hurt, since there won't be any children(well, um, there aren't *suppose* to be any children yet... ::)).

And, since a couple will already have been divorced, they won't have to worry about that when they get married, since they will already have "been there, done that".   ;)

And, the divorce industry will still be able to earn their living, too--and even more so, since every couple will have to go through divorce, before they can get married.

Everybody wins.  Couples win, because they'll no longer get divorced.  Friends and family win, because they no longer have to worry about taking sides.  And lawyers will win, because they will still get to help out with all the divorces--especially since there will then be about twice as many.  Plus, the divorce courts, too, will make out pretty well.
