Title: Healthy eating!
Post by: Symphony on April 12, 2003, 03:58:29 PM

Carrot juice.  Make it yourself in a juicer, or one brand in a 12 oz can, Hollywood brand, just pure carrot, nothing added, or others, next to the other juices at your grocer's.  It's expensive, but will give you three 4 oz servings that can keep several days in the fridge.  It will really help even just general health.  ONe lady told me her eyes couldn't take the brightness of snow; she started drinking carrot and celery juice combined, for cancer she had, and she said the snow no longer bother her eyes.  And that was 35 years ago.  She's still living, fine, 85--recovered from the cancer, too.  Even just a glass every other day or so.

Smoothies.  I've not tried these yet myself, but they sound refreshing and very nourishing.  Your favorite veggies and/or fruits, I think, into a blender, pour and indulge.

If you are a lucky guest at the aging actor Clint Eastwood's abode, I understand he might make you one(hehe--"Go ahead, creep, Make My Day!").

Great idea! Course, it won't work in our home. My husband insists on his ration of what he calls; "Vitamin G" (grease). It's a requirement! Makes for a happy home!  ;)

Yes, that's good too, Irish Angel.

Hi, Forrest.  Yep, I like coffee(French Vanilla).

Sincereheart, vitamin G?  Yeah, unfortunately, I'm a nut for grease.  Recently on Netscape, a guy, 49, been eating Big Macs faithfully since 1974--19,000 total, average about two per day, six days a week.  He's even keept it miticuosly in a record book.  He just loves'm.   McDonalds's using him as their poster boy.  He's six feet, weighs 180, and no cholesterol problem.

Four basic food groups:  Fat, Sugar, Salt, Alcohol.

Still, I'd like to try one of Clint Eastwood's smoothies, if he'd invite me over.

Hi, Forrest.  Seriously, Irish, what's it like there now?  Still much snow?  Any flowers yet?  Does the snow really bother your eyes there?

Hmmmm ..... Hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick.

One of the most talked about benefits of cinnamon relates to type 2 diabetes. A study published in the journal Diabetes Care found that half a teaspoon of cinnamon a day significantly reduces blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. It also reduces triglyceride, LDL cholesterol, and total cholesterol levels among this group.

Cinnamon’s other benefits include:

    * Supports digestive function
    * Constricts and tones tissues
    * Relieves congestion
    * Relieves pain and stiffness of muscles and joints
    * Relieves menstrual discomfort
    * Blood-thinning compounds that stimulate circulation
    * Anti-inflammatory compounds that may relieve arthritis
    * Helps prevent urinary tract infections, tooth decay and gum disease
    * It’s a powerful anti-microbial agent that can kill E. coli and other bacteria

          Dear PR:

    mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm PR,you have me drooling now.    ;D
    I thank you for telling me that.I heard this,that aluminim leaches nutrition & vitamins out of store bought drinks,
although most store bought drinks don't have any in them in the first place.
     I have a juicer at home,but find the juicing books though.
 I imagine they would help(you think ?).

                       Yours in Yeshua,

Especially so if you can't remember how to do it.  :D ;D

Store bought drinks are best when bottled in glass. There is much less contamination and damage to the contents than those bottled in cans or plastic.
