Title: Which one? Post by: His_child on May 11, 2004, 10:00:30 AM Sorry, I know I didn't get all of them listed.
Which translation do you prefer and why? Title: Re:Which one? Post by: Allinall on May 11, 2004, 11:16:25 AM I like all of the above! But them my approach is ecclectic. Hence, I prefer the ESV. It has the poetic beauty of the KJV, but the modern vernacular my simple mind can understand. :)
Title: Re:Which one? Post by: ollie on May 13, 2004, 07:06:41 PM The KJV. It is the one that brought me to the wonderful power of Jesus' love for us.
I do use others also. Title: Re:Which one? Post by: ebia on May 13, 2004, 07:15:05 PM NJB

a verse, it helps. Some pastors quote, out of the NLT. Title: Re:Which one? Post by: ebia on May 14, 2004, 06:06:24 AM New Jerusalem Bible
Title: Re:Which one? Post by: Gracey on May 14, 2004, 12:58:05 PM King James Version
with NLT (New Living Testament) as a reference AND: Modern King James Version American Standard Version mostly but I have quite a few others. I guess I use the King James because it has been widely accepted for quite a while, but I like the New Living Testament for ease of reading when I can't get something in KJV. American Standard Version is nice and Modern King James is also. Gracey Title: Re:Which one? Post by: dtexpress on June 20, 2004, 02:02:51 AM all of the above bibles are good. I still love the KJV the best it is the one that I listened to a preacher preach from in a homeless shelter, words so rich love aslo NKJV Amplifed and thompson reference bible.
Title: Re:Which one? Post by: Pinky on June 20, 2004, 11:59:09 AM I mainly use the NIV because I find the translation easy to understand. I really like the KJV because I love the language used in it but i don't have one of my own.
Title: Re:Which one? Post by: Neo on June 20, 2004, 06:29:55 PM Old Testament:
The Torah (The Law), The Nevi'im (The Prophets), and The Kethuvim (The Writings) as published by the Judaic Society of America. New Testament: Usually KJV, occasionally NKJV or GNB. I don't particularly care for the NIV or NLT. Title: Re:Which one? Post by: Forrest on June 20, 2004, 10:38:14 PM For personal study I use AMP. for posting I usualy use KJV.
