IN BRIEF Principles vs. Profits — Chick-fil-A Caves to Rainbow Mafia10 In a recent interview with Bisnow, Chick-fil-A President and Chief Operating Officer Tim Tassopoulos appeared to suggest that America’s favorite chicken restaurant would no longer be donating to charitable organizations deemed “anti-LGBT.” Tassopoulos stated, “There’s no question we know that, as we go into new markets, we need to be clear about who we are. There are lots of articles and newscasts about Chick-fil-A, and we thought we needed to be clear about our message.” As a result of this decision, Chick-fil-A will no longer donate to numerous charities it has long supported, including the Salvation Army, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and the Paul Anderson Youth Home — all organizations deemed “anti-LGBT” by the Leftmedia for their commitment to traditional Christian principles. To put it bluntly, the leadership at Chick-fil-A is folding under the blows of the Rainbow Mafia’s “anti-LGBT” cudgel. While it’s entirely understandable why a company whose primary objective is to sell tasty chicken sandwiches with top-quality service would want that to be its principal identity, the truth is that, since its founding, Chick-fil-A has represented so much more. Like it or not, Chick-fil-A stands at the forefront of the culture war as a Christian fast-food chain, and that is precisely because founder S. Truett Cathy chose to put the convictions of his Christian faith ahead of profit. This is why, to this day, all Chick-fil-A stores are closed on Sundays. This also explains why Chick-fil-A has long been a target of the Rainbow Mafia, as it represents faithful Christianity in the business world. The problem with the present controversial decision goes beyond a surrender to the Left’s demands on sexuality; it’s a violation of Cathy’s founding commitment to never compromise his Christian principles in favor of profit. Sadly, it appears that concerns over profit and growth are exactly what motivated this capitulation. Ironically, this decision may end up costing Chick-fil-A that very profit through conservative backlash. CEO Dan Cathy needs to immediately set the record straight as to whether there has been any misrepresentation of the reasoning behind this decision or he risks losing some of his company’s massive fan base. Whether Tassopoulos intended it or not, Chick-fil-A’s decision to end donations to the Salvation Army, the FCA, and the Paul Anderson Youth Home only serves to disparage these faithful Christian charitable organizations in the eyes of the public. Furthermore, it reinforces the false standard that the only way Christians can love people is by embracing and celebrating their sinful condition and behavior. Finally, Chick-fil-A is a good company, but this is at best a massive PR failure, and it has opened up a crack in the company’s armor. Appeasing the woke mobsters only leads to further demands of capitulation to their destructive ideology. Chick-fil-A has now opened this door, which may now be impossible to close. https://patriotpost.us/articles/66869-principles-vs-profits-chick-fil-a-caves-to-rainbow-mafia To our readers: We regularly request your support at this time each year and appreciate your patience with us during this current campaign. The Wall Street Journal reports12, “The top lawyer for the Democratic-led House said impeachment investigators were examining whether President Trump lied in statements to former special counsel Robert Mueller.” Rep. Jame Raskin (D-MD) explains, “It’s a crime to lie to federal prosecutors in the course of a federal proceeding. That’s perjury. It was also the basis for the GOP-controlled House’s impeachment of Bill Clinton for lying under oath, for committing perjury. So it’s a very serious offense — and it’s obviously something that we take seriously.” So, along with shifting to “bribery” instead of “quid pro quo,” Democrats have latched onto a second word — “perjury” — to bolster their impeachment case. Constitutional and legal terms tested better than Latin in focus groups. Democrats may also be baiting Trump into testifying on his own behalf. He says he would “strongly consider” it. But given how poorly the Mueller report panned out13 for Democrats the first time, we’re going to go out on a limb and say the sequel won’t be any better. Nine people are set to testify this week. The so-called whistleblower is not among them. The four people on tap Tuesday are Jennifer Williams, Vice President Mike Pence’s special adviser on Europe and Russia; Alexander Vindman, director of European affairs at the National Security Council; Kurt Volker, former special envoy to Ukraine; and Timothy Morrison, deputy assistant to the president and the National Security Council’s senior director for Europe and Russia. (Williams’s opening statement14. And Vindman’s opening statement15.) Another Wall Street Journal report16 notes that Vindman and Williams “told impeachment investigators that they were concerned by the political nature of the president’s request.” According to Vindman’s prepared remarks, “It is improper for the President of the United States to demand a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen and political opponent.” That is the case Democrats hope to parlay into an impeachment vote. https://patriotpost.us/articles/66867-schiff-show-roundup-perjury-nine-witnesses Title: The Patriot Post Digest 11-19-2019 Post by: nChrist on November 20, 2019, 08:51:34 AM ________________________________ The Patriot Post Digest 11-19-2019 From The Federalist Patriot Free Email Subscription (http://patriotpost.us/subscription/new) _______________________________ ON OUR WEBSITE TODAY Featured Analysis: Hong Kong Fights Chinese Tyranny17 — Unrest continues in the struggle between Rule of Law and communist authoritarianism. Among the questions asked of people was whether ‘quid pro quo,’ ‘extortion’ or ‘bribery’ was the best description of the president’s alleged conduct. The groups found ‘bribery’ to be the most descriptive and ‘damning.’ Armed with their talking points, Democrats at the House Intelligence Committee hearing, across the country and on TV programs, began using the word bribery. Listening to some of the montages compiled by conservative media is hilarious. It is straight out of ‘newspeak’ in George Orwell’s novel, ‘1984,’ which the author said was ‘designed to diminish the range of thought.’ This represents the death rattle of a party once known for promoting big ideas.” SHORT CUTS Insight: “Irreverence is the champion of liberty and its only sure defense.” —Mark Twain (1835-1910) Nailed it: “Some days politics can be dreadfully boring, and other days it has all the sensory overload of crowd-surfing during a rave in a minefield under a fireworks display.” —Jim Geraghty For the record: “I don’t know all the facts about today’s Chick fil A news, but a relevant principle applies to all institutions in similar situations: Half measures to protect one’s interests will never meet with approval unless there’s total capitulation to the demands of the sexual revolution.” —Andrew T. After all, we need look no further than the appalling display of other ‘deep state’ bureaucrats connected to the Russia collusion hoax — former FBI director James Comey, his deputy Andrew McCabe, and the sneering former FBI agent Pete Strzok — for examples of craven, dishonest ‘deep state’ bureaucrats who despise Trump and will seemingly do anything to undermine his administration.” —John Daniel Davidson Old man yells at cloud: “Donald Trump knows that I’ll beat him. Dina Titus And last… “The worst part of Chick-fil-A caving to the rage mob [is that] it empowers & emboldens the rage mob. Now the rage mob knows their bullying works, so they’ll bully other Christian business owners. And those not as powerful as Chick-fil-A could be forced to close.” —Liz Wheeler https://patriotpost.us/articles/66865-tuesday-short-cuts Don’t Miss Cartoons and Memes Check out Camouflage Practice34.
